While checking my summer trip notes against my listed reviews on this site, I noticed that this park was missing. We stayed here one weeknight in mid-July. We had a level, gravel, FHU site. Although there is no cable TV, most sites are satellite friendly since there are few trees. We had no problems connecting to or using their Wi-Fi network. There are 23 FHU 30 amp sites, 14 FHU 30/50 amp sites, and 15 W&E (30 amp only) sites. There are also about a dozen tent sites, 5 cabins, and a group tenting area. For a park with this many non-sewer sites the bathroom facilities are inadequate. This park has lots of seasonal customers who use this park as a fish camp to boat/fisd on Ferry Lake. The sites are unusually large so as to accommodate boasts and trailers. There is no pool and I am not certain if you can swim in the nearby lake. The slime that I saw accumulated along the shore would make going into that water questionable. There is some playground equipment. The laundry is in the office/store building. The Flamingo Grill is next door and serves breakfast (weekends only) along with sandwiches and Mexican dishes for lunch and dinner in season. The lake and marina is only a 5-10 minute walk away. The public park with a campground and marina is a little farther. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The owners of this park were extremely helpful and made us feel welcome. The park is very clean and the women's shower house as just been renovated. They offer putt golf, a used bookstore, a diner, and a beautiful playground. the roads are gravel throughout the park and the sites are fairly level. Though parts of the park have been renovated, some areas, like golf area and some of the sites are a little run down. Additionally, it does have some full time residence. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We were taking 287 as a bypass of Butte and needed a one night stay without unhooking. The site was clean and adequate. The staff was friendly. The road right now is completely torn out and was extremely bumpy in places, but we feel we still made better time. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Wow! If I had known about the county campground about 1/4 of a mile further down the road I would not have stayed here. But, we already had our reservations for two nights so we paid the price. The KOA is real average. The electricity was OK we paid more for 50 amp. The staff was friendly. The site is crushed limestone. We would not stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
For the price, we were disappointed this park was not closer to the lake or directly on it. We could see down the road another campground right on the lake but didn't drive on to see it's name. We arrived after the office closed and paid the next morning. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park was a major disappointment. The KOA directory and website note that the park has permanent boat moorage, which gives the impression the campground is right on the lake. In reality, the lake is at least 1/3 mile away. The campground is sited in a large, open grassy area, adjacent to an RV storage facility. The trees are immature cottonwoods that provide no shade. With 100 degree heat, the lack of shade was a real drawback. Drives and site pads are crushed rock that left a chalky residue on the trailer. Bathrooms are new and very clean, but they are kept locked. A $5.00 deposit is required for each key to the men's and women's room, and we were not informed of this when we checked in, and we had to walk back to the office to get restroom keys. The campground has wireless internet, but the signal is weak and available only near the office. The staff was quite friendly. We called ahead to make sure they had a site available, and they booked us in, but for the preceding day. Luckily, they had a site available when we arrived. As a result, they put us into a full service site, even though we did not require sewer. This was good as the dump station has a sign that indicates a $4.00 charge. There is no pool. On the plus side, the store is the best-stocked KOA store we have encountered. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
