Nice and secluded and quiet. Very wooded, mature tall trees, deer roaming the park. Good sites with hard gravel, fairly level, easy in and out. Would definitely return. Never saw a park ranger nor host. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This was a very nice state park campground. All of the sites were wooded. They had adequate spacing between each site and all were located within walking distance of the trails. Maquoketa Caves State Park has beautiful walking trails with natural rock formations and several caves. Our kids enjoyed the campground and its family friendly atmosphere. The sites were easy to back into and came equipped with a picnic table and fire ring. We will definitely return to this campground. We camped here in a Motorhome.
