Worst experience ever. We were suppose to have 50 amp service, but couldn't even get 30 amp. They kept blaming the problem on the electric company, but it was the way the pedestal was wired. It was not only my site, but with the rest of the group we were camping with, a total of 10 sites. Quiet hours were suppose to be from 11pm to 8 am, but other camper were loud way past midnight. Will never go to this campground again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
While we did not stay here we took a drive through the CG to see what it looked like. The other posters were right on the mark. Almost all fulltime residents and not many other sites available to camp on. Would not camp here. There are others in the area! We camped here in a Motorhome.
Campground was clean however, the workers were rude. Quite time is suppose to be 11:00pm to 8:00am but they had us turn down and off our music during the day. Then the told us we could face the music towards the river and that would be okay but they came down later and told us it was too loud again before 11:00pm. Have a gate key with a charge of $6 when you bring back the key you get your $6 back, one of our campers did not receive the key when they checked it however they charged them for it and would not refund the money when we checked out. Mostly seasonal people camp here and most are not friendly. Would not go back to this campground, it's not worth the money. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This campground is very very overpriced for the amenities. It is very run down and mostly seasonals that are not taken care of. They have no pool, no real swimming access, and everything to rent is either broken, run down, or both. Don't pay the price to stay here it's a huge disappointment. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Campground was mostly OK. Mostly permanent sites and close together. Advertised kayak rentals, and only had one. Web site info not correct. Full hookup is $35 and electric/water sites are $32. Sewer hook-up was plugged. Reported it to management several times to no avail. Bathrooms were clean with new floors, walls, and sinks, but the toilets were very old small RV toilets - weird. Pay showers available. Upon checkout, requested a refund for the difference between a sewer and non-sewer site fee and was reluctantly given one after much discussion. Near a nice little town, Sylvan Beach, that hosts a nostalgic amusement park and arcade for small children and a very nice public beach. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Campground is located on Fish Creek (the outlet for Oneida Lake)about 2 miles from Sylvan Beach Sylvan Beach has restaurants and tourist attractions The area is very pretty (I grew up in the area).Syracuse, Utica or Romeare about a half hour from the campground. The campground is quiet. It appears there are many permanent residents, including a retirement section. Roads are stone and in need of more stone. The sites are large enough, but are not too level. Looks like fresh stone on the sites where I was, but the site inclined about 3 degrees down from the front. The area around my site had straw on it. Don't know if it was to cover the mud or grass seed was planted. The park was gated with a security card for entrance. Staff was helpful and friendly. One large disappointment were the showers. For $35 a night, showers should be free. They weren't. The showers were clean, but there was no heat (daytime temps were in 50's; nights in low 40's) and the shower curtains were stiff with age. There are a couple of other campgrounds in the area and I think I would look at them next time. We camped here in a Motorhome.
