This is an awesome location!!!! Our front window looked out over the Alaskan Marine Hwy and we watched freighters & cruise ships go by. Good 50 amps, long level sites which easily accommodated our 45 footer & towed vehicle with grass facing the ocean. Very close to everything in town. We did not use the facilities, but park is very clean & well kept. This is definitely a place we will return when visiting Campbell River. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is an okay park. We were a little disappointed as we believed the park was right next to the ocean. It is across a busy street and many of the sites have a view of a very large industrial storage building. We were fortunate and had a good view of Discovery Passage. Check in was easy and efficient. The staff were friendly and professional. The sites are arranged so that a Coach can nose in and next to it a Trailer can back in. They were gravel and level. The services are in the middle (and well placed) so that everyone has a view (if available). There are no privacy breaks between units and they were typical urban spacing, fairly tight. There is a grass strip in front that has a fire ring and then a chain link fence. The dog walk is a long wide strip of grass next to the busy road so there is not an opportunity for any off leash time. P,W,S and Cable are included. Wi-Fi is planned very well in my opinion. None is free but there is an opportunity to purchase the amount of service you need. Basic being quite reasonably priced and for those that need to stream movies, more expensive. We don’t know how well the service worked as we have our own mobile internet service. Cable is basic. There is a large shopping center within walking distance complete with restaurants if you need them and a Burger Joint right next door. The park is in the city therefore expect typical urban noise. Traffic seemed to die down in the evenings but during the day we heard Helicopters and Sea Planes taking off and landing as well as traffic. We discovered that there are a number of permanent units in the park. It was pretty much impossible to tell which ones. Wow. Every one looked like it was transient. Rules are basic and enforced. While we were there, we were able to spot a number of Killer Whales as well as view Cruise Ships on their way to and from Alaska. This is not a resort so don’t expect to be entertained. We paid $34.65 including taxes and feel we received good value. We would return. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Basically this is a huge gravel parking lot just half a mile past a shopping mall north of Campbell River. Sites are arranged side by side, no trees, no shade, no privacy. The road between the RV park and the water isn't busy at all, very quiet at night indeed. The sites are well leveled, easy to get in and out and the hookups are arranged perfectly. Wi-Fi was reliable and mostly fast. Overall a good place to stay for a reasonable price if you go out for day trips in the area. The place itself is not the nicest to hang out and the more attractive sites to the rear that offer some nice views to Strathcona are occupied by seasonals. However, if looking for a place to stay for a few nights in the area we would come here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Large gravel pads with grass at the back of the site with a fire pit. Well kept and clean. WiFi was $1 a day and was good at your spot. We were backed up to the strait. The road was between us and the water. There was lots of traffic during the day, but it was quiet during the night. Nice and close to shopping, boat tours and Elk Falls. Staff was friendly and helpful. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Has a beautiful view of the ocean and islands, as well as the estuary. Eagles, cruise ships and snow covered mountains in the distance. Great walking paths out the gate. It's near town, and has excellent hosts. We will come back. WiFi was $1 a day extra. The 7th day of camping is free. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
A nice spot close to city center Campbell River. A great biking trail and park nearby! Charge $8.00 per wheel barrel of wood and allow fires. Nice, well kept park. Cost was lower due to us staying one week. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
