This is a great donation only park. The dirt roads have been fixed and lots of shade with fire pits. There is free fire wood. It is a dry camping with fresh water access only in the rear of the campground. It has bathrooms only in the front of campground, but no fresh water access. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Park is "maintained" by City of Columbus. It is in very poor condition - most sites could not be accessed due to ruts, branches, mud. A few sites are right on the Yellowstone River. A gravel mixture had been spread on the "better" sites but the stones were mixed with tar which made a mess on our shoes and the dog's feet. Park needs to be cleaned up - weeds cut, trees trimmed, etc. Fee is donation only. Just a few miles south of I-90 so OK if you just need a place to pull in and sleep. There were a total of 6 campsites occupied and the police did drive through so it seemed safe enough. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This campground is run by the City of Columbus. Campground is free. It is adjacent to the Yellowstone River and the city’s golf course. There are two sections to the campground and we stayed in the back section. The back section has larger sites, vault toilets, a small boat ramp. Some sections of the campground roads are rutted but passable. If you camp in the back section, a 35’ is probably the maximum size. Campground is patrolled regularly by local police. We would stay again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
