Stayed in site 105D which actually is a double. Not sure if we paid extra or not? Rate includes reservation fee and any out of state fee. NICE location on a cove with a beach just a hundred yards away. Arrived on Sunday and hardly anyone in the Park. Needed a long hose extension to reach the faucet. Good Verizon cell and data! Launched kayak right from our site. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is one of the best state parks that we have stayed in. The only reason that I didn't give this a 10 is because of the lack of sewer hook ups. We were in the Handicap site, which is all cement and level. The site is located in a small cove right beside a boat launch with a nice little beach. We were able to launch a boat and wet land it in the cove and the kids still had plenty on beach to play on. It was fourth of July weekend so the park was packed, but it was not crowded. The bath houses were cleaned twice a day, even on the weekends. The rangers keep the park nice and quiet during quiet time, but did not disturb you if you were outside hanging around the fire. All in all, this was a great weekend at great park. We will definitely be back here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This was our second trip to Hibernia Campground in Kerr Lake SRA. We reserved site site #88 on the lake with W/E in Loop 2 which is on the lake. It was very nice with the water being 50 ft from our site on three sides. We really enjoy this campground with Henderson Point being a very close second. We stayed 4 nights and really didn't want to leave. The camp host in loop 2 will give you free fire wood if you ask which is an added bonus. The park does not sell fire wood but most of the stores in the area does for $5.99 a bundle. Had a great time here and I highly recommend this campground to anyone! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We have a special need child so this campground was great. We couldn't get the handicap spot because we had a tent and you can't put it on site, but got one next to it. This was great as we could push the wheel chair down to the water. The sight also had lots of room for the tent and all the extra stuff. There was lots of shade, toilets, sinks, showers were very clean and kept up well. Lots of room for the wheel chair. It was very quiet at nigh. Will camp a lot more time here, just wish it was a year round. We camped here in a Tent.

Hibernia Campground is part of the Kerr Lake State Recreation Area (SRA), and is located at the end of Hibernia Road, off Route 39 in Townsville, NC. This year I selected site 104 (W/E) and was pleased with the level site, graveled drive and camp pad. Pad featured fire ring, lantern stand, picnic table in good condition. Lake levels vary depending upon rain to the north/west, as well as how much water is let out of Kerr via the Kerr Dam to sustain Lake Gaston at its proper height. Sites 100-107 or thereabouts have been set up with 4x4 framed driveway, and framed pad, with rock (rip-rap)(lake side) to protect the sites from being washed out. Some sites are situated/rocked with easier access to the lake than others, but they are level! While there, the lake seemed to shrink and the beach expand about 1 foot a day, but, due to the activity at the nearby boatramp, the lake bottom was not murky from our site. Water was very comfortable for swimming or just a refreshing dip. Park features a nature trail (Plantation Trail) taking you to the site of the original Plantation as well as family cemetary. Very large park with mostly lake accessable sites - bathhouses on each loop, clean and maintained. Boat ramp and area for trailer storage. Gate personnel were very accommodating. Nearby is RJ's Country Store which has camping/fishing merchandise. and a newly added deli. About 1 mile south on Route 39 is Chuck's. Both sell gasoline, and propane trade-in. (Only place locally to get refills is store at corner of Nutbush and Satterwhite Point Road). Wal-mart is about 15 miles south off I-85, many eateries in Henderson (Dabney Road exit off I-85). Clarksville, VA is an easy drive of about 17 miles north on 39, north on Route 15. Best eatery - Middleburg Steak House on Route 158 in Middleburg, NC. Nice Antique stores in nearby Warrenton, NC as well as 'Virginia Avenue' in Clarksville, VA. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
