We spent a quick overnight here and that was all we needed, and wanted. We managed to find a pull-through site because the site behind us was unoccupied. The electric service worked well. The water pressure was about 80 lbs. so make sure you use a regulator before you hook up. Many of the other campers seemed to be permanent: antique old RVs that don't appear able to be moved, even though there is supposedly a 2 week stay limit. We didn't have any problem but did not feel secure either. Although we didn't use them, we did check out the restrooms to see if improvements have been made since the last review. We are happy to note that security locks are now in place on the entry doors to the restrooms, meaning the general public does not have access. The facilities appeared to be clean but as a previous reviewer stated, there is no enclosed dressing area for each shower and probably no economical way to fix the situation either since all walls are concrete block. It was noisy at night too. The park borders busy US Hwy 34 and the trains are not far away either. We heard train horns all night long as they issued their warnings at the many grade crossings. All in all we were glad we were only staying one night. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is our 8th time staying at this city park. Over the last several years we have made several suggestions to the managers and the City Park Director that they need to improve the bath house conditions. The park has a very nice fishing pond and a walking path. This year we found that the conditions in the showers are worse than in previous visits. There is no privacy in the bath house when you take showers, no place to hang your clothes and the outside door and shower units cannot be secured. This is a problem because the facilities are used by the non camping public and they can catch you in an embarrassing and helpless state if you are alone. I stand outside the door when my wife is inside to monitor who goes in. I stayed here as I have not located an alternative campsite. I strongly recommend checking out the facilities prior to paying camping fees as they do not give refunds. Only a few of the sites have level concrete pads. The rest are not level and have deep tire ruts that make leveling difficult. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a city park and does not have a good security system. This limits the park to campers. The bath houses do not have private dressing areas and you have to dress in the showers. You have to hang your clothes over shower curtain. The couple who manage the park are great but the city has done very little to improve the campground. The rates were raised in 2009 to $15.00 with electric and water. No sewer. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a large city park campground. There were about 100 sites with a separate area for tents. Most sites were shaded with very large trees. There were water & 30 amp electric hookups at all the RV sites and a dump station. There are a couple of large ponds in the park & quite a few people were fishing with good luck catching pan fish. Some of the sites were suitable for big rigs and most would handle at least 34 footers. The cost per night was only $13.50 for RV's, less for tents. There were areas to walk and there appeared to be a paved bike/walking trail across the road. We were very happy to find this pretty & low cost park. The only negative was that there were many geese in & near the ponds and you have to be careful where you walk near the ponds. The geese did not come in the campground. The park is located on US Highway Business 63 on the south side of town. This was a great park at a great price & we would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
