Calling it a resort does not make it one. This place is a rock parking lot. There are a few shrubs by the entrance, but not so much as a cactus back by the chain link fence where we were. Lots of road noise, unlevel sites, dogs off leash, very weak water pressure. At a nightly rate of $30 we thought it was overpriced. Sites were reasonably wide but were filled with your neighbors' boats, ATV's, etc. making the park quite junky and ugly. If you just want a place to sleep nights while you fish at Lake Roosevelet I suppose it's OK, but there is no reason whatsoever to come to this campground on its own merits. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is a very friendly place to stay, management is very responsive to your needs. It is an adult park, I would not say that it is not family friendly. The nightly rates vary by the length of stay, monthly is $10 per day. The park does have washers and dryers. The spaces are very large with room for ATVs, boats and whatever. The park is located around 35 miles from Payson, AZ not the mileage shown on the web site. There is a Super Wal-mart located in Payson and a regular Wal-mart located about 50 miles away in Globe, AZ. The park is about 500 feet from a grocery store, hardware store, saloon and restaurant in a place called "The Butcher Hook". These are small but you won't believe what they have in stock. We will be staying for two months next year. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

7 miles north of Roosevelt Lake next to the Butcher Hook Complex on Arizona route 188. Very clean new campground, gravel sites. Next to stores and gas station. Surrounded by mountains with a great view. We found it by accident driving by, and glad we did. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
