This place has an excellent setting, and would get a rating of '10' based on that alone, but the logistics of the RV park are not well thought out. Hook-ups at three of the sites are on the wrong side and hook-ups at the other two sites are located so that rigs need to be parked out in a car parking area. When we arrived, an RV in space 20 hooked up to space 19's utilities causing us in space 18 to have no hook-ups. We notified the staff, some of which were friendly and some not. The maintenance person told us that we were to share. We were even still charged for a full hook-up even though we were sharing. If the hook-ups were relocated this place would get a 9. We gave it a 5 for the redeeming quality of the mountain setting. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
The folks at Sipapu Lodge who handle the RV site reservations are very friendly and accommodating. But they seem to be clueless as to the problems with the sites. The web site emphasizes snow activities, disc golf and fishing, but shows no pictures of the RV sites. For this reason one has no heads-up of what to expect when considering the campground. Yes, the woods and stream are very nice, but it's difficult to enjoy them for several reasons. There are five sites, crammed into a space that is suitable for only three. Space 20 puts your door right at the back of a rental building, and has no water hookup. All the sites have the hookups on the wrong side; if you're not in a motorhome that can pull in forward, you have to run your electric cable and hoses under the RV and past the front door. We endured a weekend elbow-to-elbow with partying neighbors and five loose dogs who roamed around threatening our dog and digging in the trash. Two of the sites share a fire pit and picnic table; the fire pits are deep steel rings with no ventilation holes, so the fire burns low and smoky. I asked about the advertised Wi-Fi connection, but was told it wasn't working. We made the best of the situation, but won't go back unless the RV sites are completely rebuilt. We camped here in a Motorhome.
