Folks at check-in gate were friendly, as were the camp hosts. There is now a dump station at this park and all sites in the family campground have electric and water. I believe there are 40 sites within the family campground, but there is only one shower in the mens' room and only one shower in the women's room. There are three toilets in each. It appears that the park is in the process of being upgraded. There are a few sites that have asphalt, but most have gravel. Unfortunately, most of the sites aren't level. Access to the park and the campground is easy, but there are those Arizona dips along the way. There are lots of trails within the park/campground, so lots of places to walk pets, although you have to be watchful of the rattlesnakes and the cactus. There is also a children's play area, making it nice for families. We had to move our Verizon hot spot to different spots in the RV before we found the ideal place for it. It seemed we were just at the outskirts of the tower range. This is one of those parks that tends to have more folks on the weekends, being practically empty during the week. We would stay again if passing through the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Watch for the new gravel in the RV campsites. New services have just been installed and the ground is still pretty soft. But otherwise, this place is fabulous. We'd come back in a heartbeat, next time we have to come to Phoenix. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Visited with our new motor home after hearing that they now have power/water masts at every site. Friendly, informative gate keepers and camp hosts. Campground is right in the mix of area trails for hiking, mountain biking. Beautiful area close enough to the Phoenix metropolitan area to see it's cover of unhealthy smog while you breathe the clean air of the Waddel mountains. Will definitely revisit. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Maricopa County has some really nice campgrounds with great sites, however this place was a little bit disappointing. The pluses are the views looking eastward toward the Valley of the Sun (Phoenix) are wonderful, the mostly spacious sites and the great hiking and biking trails. The negatives are no water at the sites, no dump station at all, 40% unlevel sites and one bathroom building for 40 sites with only a single shower for each of the men and women sides in the building. The ratio of toilets/showers to campers is disappointing. Generator hours are from 8am to 10pm which might be improved by having only a morning an early evening period such as 7-9am and 4-7pm. We camped here in a Motorhome.

A totally wonderful park with great scenery and wonderful trails for hiking and biking. There is NO dump here; so you need to plan ahead when you come. There are water faucets around to fill your tank with wonderful well water. We would definitely come here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
