Walking distance to Glacier Lodge and the BNSF RR Station. With traffic to and from the Dakotas, the train traffic is nearly, constant, and noisy. US-2 grade is two blocks away. The CG is clean and mowed, sites with some gravel, and there are 8 drive thru with full hookup, 30AMP. HDTV gets you 4 stations from Great Falls. Owner lives next door to the CG, and although the office is basically unattended, they are nearby and very helpful. Easy access to the various sections of East Glacier National Park. We spent 3 nights here and slept well in spite of the train traffic. There are track crews that start shift about 7:30 in the morning, moving their heavy equipment out of the sidings at the station and onto the RR grade. There are some awesome places to eat in town, walk, or drive. Glacier Park is awesome and the stay here was well worth it. We would return when in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
An unpolished gem. Hope it doesn't get polished, rates would go up. Everything (EWS) you need in a relatively convenient location, at the edge of East Glacier. Wide, level, grass sites. Great view from front of sites. Owner/manager while not present in an office on site was personable and responsive. Grass was mowed when we were there. Bathrooms clean if dated. We didn't find rail noise bad, but then it was cool enough our windows (double pane) were closed at night. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park is exactly as advertised, and that gets an "8" from me. The rate is based on the weekly rate. Some have a problem with self registration, but I like it. Just pick out a site and pay for it. How much easier can that be? The sites are grass and the electric is 30 amp. The view is amazing, and the management is friendly, and accommodating. We came in not sure if we would stay the week, and they let us convert over to the weekly rate after two days. Close to the Glacier Park Lodge, and several good eateries are in walking distance. This is the best deal in town. Would definitely stay here again and again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Lazy is a good name that describes the owners. The entry booth said put money in door slot. There was no one around to answer questions or help. We paid for a W/E site but there was no water hookup. Seems to me like they just want the money and don't put anything into upkeep. Bathrooms were dirty, dingy & small. Metered showers. Community laundry out front - busy with non-campers. Level grassy sites (needed to be mowed), some shade, no privacy between sites. Would have stayed in Two Medicine but I wasn't prepared for dry camping that night. There is another campground up the road, but it had a closed sign. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Clean park and nice owner. East Glacier is on Indian land and the roads look and feel like it. Verizon works fine. Great views. Lots of train noise as its the main line over Marias pass.. The electric/water sites are nice, but only 20 amp electric. Nice place to stay on the East side of Glacier National Park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This tidy little park provides wide, level grassy sites and a nice view over a valley. Unfortunately, busy train tracks on the opposite hillside add a lot of rumbling noise day and night. AT&T phone service is good but data service is poor. Restrooms are adequate. The laundry serves the community as well as the campground but sits on the street edge so does not increase traffic into the park. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Great park if you want to explore eastern portion of GNP. The owner is very helpful and knowledgeable. She keeps the park very clean. The laundry mat is spacious and kept very clean. A short walk to town will get you groceries, and knickknacks... Beautiful setting with park overlooking the river and mountain backdrop. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
