I have reviewed this park before and still think it is a great place to stay . The only thing that has changed is that the gas well people are doing a lot of damage to the natural beauty of the area . Some of the migrant workers come into the park late at night and use the showers . They are in general , very sleazy looking characters . We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is a modern campground with large sites, clean restrooms and showers. Has a very scenic lake with great fishing and a beach, and a lot of nice ranger led programs for both children and adults. This park is also close to the PA Grand Canyon and neat little town of Wellsboro. I have been to a lot of PA"s state parks and this is by far one of the best. Your kids will not run out of things to do here. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Hills Creek State Park is a beautiful park with clean restrooms and ideal location. This campground probably would have received a 10 out of 10 rating from us if it wasn't for our site location. We were directly across from the 'host' (creepy spy) site. From the moment we arrived we felt as if someone was looking over our shoulder. By the next afternoon we realized that was exactly true. Because of this oppressive feeling we left a day early. We camp all over New England and have never experienced anything like this before. We are a young family of four out to enjoy a nice relaxing camping vacation. Also, quiet hours encompass 11 hours of the day...from 9pm to 8am. If you decide to camp here it may be wonderful. We just recommend you avoid being any where near the host site. When we were there the host site was site 6. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Hills Creek is the only state park campground in the area with showers. Very roomy sites with good privacy. Swimming and boating on the lake. Nice large and clean restrooms and shower facilities. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
