This campground is a bargain but it's 10 miles off the interstate and out of the way if you are just passing through. Like many military FamCamps, you get a good site with good hookups but not much else. They have an older washer & dryer (both worked fine) and each site has a picnic table and grill. That's about it for amenities. Trees make satellite access challenging. We had daily dust storms which are common here in Spring. They don't let you rinse the dust off either. Some sites are 30 Amp and others are 50 Amp and there's no way to tell which sites are which without walking around and looking at each one. Laundry room and bath rooms were swept but not particularly clean. They don't take reservations which means you drive the 10 miles to the base before you know for sure if a site is available. They were never full while we were there. Definitely use the commercial gate as you won't be able to navigate the curves coming in the main gate! You can depart through the main gate. We'd stay again but for an overnight passing through. Both ATT & Verizon had good signals. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Clean sites, full-service, clean power, water had good pressure. This suits for a perfect jump off point for Boise or other surrounding adventures. Self service payment. Camp host is kind and attentive to the property. Easy to navigate to the campground, but getting through the gate can be somewhat tricky. During the week, big rigs must use a second commercial gate for entry to the base, but once through the gate, it's still an easy shot to the campground. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Arrived late at night. Was easy to find a spot and to self-register. Clean, and host was friendly. Parking available for towed vehicles. Loved the flyover by the Mountain Home AFB aircraft on training flights. We camped here in a Motorhome.
