It’s great for what it is – very rustic, off the beaten path. We used it as an overnight stop on our way from Southern California to the coastal redwoods. No traffic noise at all – it’s about a mile off Highway 20. The back-in sites next to the creek were quite large. The sites were level with a dirt surface – probably gets muddy in wet weather, but we had no problem. The management was very accommodating and pleasant. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Definitely a laid back, rustic campground. It felt like we were in someone's back yard. Sites are close together. Very shaded. Some low hanging trees. Wire fencing between sites which makes the sites feel smaller. We had no one on either side of us. We would have felt much more comfortable if there was no fence. Felt closed in with the wire fencing. Grill had garbage in it. Hook ups were only W&E with dump station. We had to wait over an hour to have the electric turned on. Bathrooms are old but clean, Pets are allowed, but not welcome. $2./day per pet charge. Dog waste in our site. No Verizon or Sprint Internet. No Verizon or AT&T signal. Nice swimming pond, basketball court, and communal large campfire but full of garbage. Would not come back. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This campground located 1 1/2 miles from highway 20 is a rough hewn gem. We arrived late, in the dark, and the owner greeted us and then took us to our camp-site. She stayed while we hooked up and then said, "You seem tired, if you are not leaving early, you can pay in the morning." Pretty amazing, and yes we were tired so we paid in the morning. The stars put on such a display without any ambient light to compete with for their brilliance. The silence was quite unbelievable, simply no sounds except the forest and its animals. The setting for this park is beautiful, forest and glade. There are wild turkeys here that will bid you adieu. Our WiFi worked fine so we didn't seek out additional services, which is why I don't know what are available. Also I am not exactly sure about the number of camp-sites. Kids would absolutely love this place, with its wild and natural activities. We will check in here again as we travel up and down Highways 101 and 20. We camped here in a Motorhome.
