I stayed here in a motorhome for 3 months while volunteering with NPS. This place is just great, and everyone who lives here is the friendliest people you will ever meet. Person at Doc Campbell's Store is very helpful. (jmho) The jacuzzi may or may not be hot enough for some, but for my money I'll walk down the hill to the hot springs on the river and have 3 pools to choose from with the river right there for cooling off!! Camp beside the pools for 5 bucks (no hookups) and that includes the hot springs. Great place to stay, and I will return. As noted earlier - anyone with a big rig will want to use Hwy 35. Hwy 15 from Silver City is narrow, no center line and with many switchbacks. We camped here in a Motorhome.
As said odd set up but very quiet. We got to park next to the sheep. The owner chatty and helpful. The ice cream is really good at Doc Campbell's, friendly enough. Needed a check for the camping. Did the hot tub both nights, could have been a bit warmer. Nice and close to the Gila Cliff dwellings a real plus. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We enjoyed this small quiet spot, close to the Cliff Dwellings, and fishing on the river. Lots of horses to look at. The evening roundup with the sisters in golf carts was amazing. Camp hosts very helpful and friendly. Man who owns Doc Campbell's store makes great ice cream, but is a sour pus, not forthcoming with helpful tourist information. Lady in the store the second day was very nice. We would go back. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
Fantastic Views! Very friendly and helpful Hosts. Hookups at each site that utilized the Hot Springs water directly to your RV! Very clean restrooms/showers with heated floors from the Hot Springs. Jacuzzi available at a small fee and uses the Hot Springs water also. Much to do in the area. Gila Dwellings to the north and the Campbell's Ranch across the street that includes Hot Spring Pools! Horseback riding available and farm animals. Hot Springs pools have a small fee if you wish to go into the pools. Campbell's Post (general store & gifts) located across the street from the RV Park that have all you need and more! As noted from previous reviewer: it is highly recommended to use Route 35 to access the RV Park. It is a nice ride, faster route than Route 15 and safer for trailers and motorhomes. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Oddly laid-out campground, but clean and inexpensive. The best feature is the hot tub filled with the local hot springs. There is a $5 fee to use it, but that covers the entire time you're there. Extremely close to the Gila Cliff Dwellings, which should be considered a must-see. **WARNING**: do *not* come in via highway 15 if in anything longer than a pickup with camper. Take hwy 35 even if it is out of your way...trust me. We camped here in a Motorhome.
