Outstanding KOA, one of the cleanest that we have ever stayed at. Large level sites, good interior road. They have "patio sites" that look very nice and we will reserve one on our next trip. They have a small but pristine pool and a great dog park. Overall just a nice place to stay. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a nice park with lots of potential. Great for those wishing to explore the Shenandoah Valley area. There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of activity at the park, but that's not why we camp necessarily. We had no trouble navigating our 40' 5er although take it slow as some sites are a little tricky. The entrance is a little tight and the interior road is wide enough for one RV only so you have to pay attention. All hookups worked just fine. We had no T-Mobile service but the Wi-Fi worked OK some of the time. The staff was friendly enough and the park was very clean and very nicely landscaped. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Power, water, dump at site are all excellent. Sites are level. We had a premium site that came with glass table and very nice chairs, a fire pit with chairs (very nicely done). Wi-Fi works well, but, like most, if the camp is fully occupied it gets slow. The facility is very well maintained. The staff was unfailingly friendly and helpful. The only reason for not giving a full 10 is the roads were gravel, not concrete. But the gravel was very well done and, during our stay, not dusty. We would seek out this campground to stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a beautiful park 2 miles outside Luray. Interesting layout with pull-thrus but it gives some sites a perfect front yard facing the giant grassy park. Looks like most sites have had major renovations. You can opt for level, gravel sites on the hill overlooking park or gravel sites with concrete pads and paver decks. All sites look to have fire pits. Quiet setting near a dairy farm. Great place for kids although not many here. Staff is friendly. Great base for Shenandoah NP. We will be back! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

What a difference 2 years makes. In April 2012 I gave this place a 9...today a 6. As with many campgrounds, the prices vary depending on the type of site you choose. Rather than pay $64 for the "expensive" RV site, I chose the "cheapest" RV site (still full hook-up) at $54. Since becoming a KOA in 2012, the prices have increased drastically. In 2012 I stayed in the "expensive" site. In 2012, the $64 site only cost $38...That's a 68% increase in 2 years. At $38 a night one can overlook the fact that there's no cable TV, spotty WiFi coverage, and minimal bathroom facilities...but now they charge $64 for those privileges. A deluxe patio site at the Yellowstone/West Entrance KOA costs less. Don't get me wrong, this is still a spectacularly beautiful, clean, and quiet campground, but I'm going camping not to the Hilton. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is one of the finest campgrounds in Virginia. It has an attentive owners/managers a nice swimming pool, and a large dog park. The sites are very nice, with pull-thru and back in and they even have premium sites that have concrete pads and deluxe fireplaces. The grounds are immaculate and the views are spectacular. The park is very close to the town of Luray with its nice restaurants and shopping, the Luray Caverns and Shenandoah National Park’s Skyline Drive are also very close. We have been here many times and this has been the most enjoyable, perhaps the KOA designation? I have given them glowing review, but have given a 9 because of the lack of Internet and cable. Yes, they say they have Wi-Fi, however I was unable to receive any signal even on my phone, and they do not have cable. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here before it became part of KOA and I was concerned that there would be major changes. I was happy to discover very little, if any, changes. The grounds are immaculate and well landscaped. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. The scenery is beautiful and it is quiet. It is not a resort with all kinds of activities although it has some; but is a good place to just relax and is a great location to explore the Shenandoah valley. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is a definite ten! The owners are hard working, gracious and keep their park in mint condition. The sites are very nicely spaced, some are shaded, the views are magnificent, and many of the sites are drive-throughs. The price is a little higher than most, but it is well worth it. Our only very minor complaint would be that the Wi-Fi signal was weak and slow at our site, but our Verizon gave us our internet access. The town of Luray is close by; so are major interstate roads for access. We will definitely be back. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

While this is a well kept campground there are problems and the place is far too expensive for what is offered. Measured water pressure at several sites (our group) was only 25 psi at the faucet. No cable offered. Wi-Fi offered and we had some signal, but most devices could not connect and those that did had at best dial-up speed. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a beautiful park with a large grassy area in the center. The park was well maintained and the staff friendly. Although we traveled here in a 24' RV, we noted that several large units had some difficulty getting onto some of the sites and had to make several adjustments to place themselves on the sites correctly. We found the campground clean and quiet and would certainly stay her again in the future. We also had a wonderful meal in town at Uncle Buck's on Main Street. We camped here in a Motorhome.

To be upfront, we are not normally KOA fans. However, this park was probably one of the nicest KOA's (and most expensive) that we've ever stayed at. The rate included a 10% discount. The park is immaculately landscaped with very large sites and a lot of large open spaces with manicured lawns. The sites are nice level gavel. There is also a great dog run, nice pool, and friendly staff. There is no cable TV, and mostly only weak over the air TV stations available. Most sites do have good satellite access. There was no night time security lighting, at least in our area of the park. The Wi-Fi was not functioning in our area of the park the night we were there. Water pressure at our site was a bit low, 20 to 30 psi most of the time. This park is quite a distance from I-81 or I-66, so probably better as a destination, but would also make a great overnight stay if you're in no hurry as was our case. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a very clean and beautiful park. Views include Shenandoah National Park and farmland. Sites are level and the space between the sites is appropriate. Very clean restrooms/shower. Nice dog park for those with pets. Large general activity area. Small pool and playground for those that have children. We do not, so it made no difference to us. Close to the Luray Caverns and the Rt. 211 entrance to the National Park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Actually at 10++! One of the nicest campgrounds we have ever stayed in during out 35 years of camping. It is located in bucolic farmland and nestled between the Shenandoah Mountains to the east and the Mt. Jackson range to the west. The grounds are meticulously clean and beautifully landscaped. The gravel based sites are level and each spot has a picnic table and a fire ring. The hookups are properly placed and work well. The bathhouse is spotless. There is a 2 acre Dog Park, securely fenced and well equipped with bags and a place for humans to sit and enjoy the scenery while their pets frolic. The small swimming pool was not yet open while we were there, but it looked nice. Check-in was efficient and friendly. We can’t wait to go back! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Hunkered down here waiting for Sandy to pass. Site was large pull through and services were good. The only negative was a need to replace the water tap as it was leaking badly. What a beautiful place, well taken care of, VERY clean and manicured, the views were excellent. We were in space 50 which is a pull-through near the left side of the back of the park. Hook ups were in perfect position; water pressure seemed a little low, but still no problem using the sinks or shower; power was great, nothing showing wrong on the lights of the progressive surge protector; voltage was great, stayed in the green on our plug in meter. We got the 3 major stations (and more) in HD with the antenna, so I was able to watch my Cowboys lose another football game! Staff was super nice, lot was very level, easy to navigate and very quiet, no where near traffic or civilization! Great local attractions, especially Luray Caverns! The Country Waye KOA is one of the most beautiful and well kept parks we have ever stayed at. There is not a blade of grass out of place. It is not a large park (which adds to its appeal for us anyway), which is surrounded by farmland and gorgeous mountains with lots of trees for shade (and spots without if you want to use your satellite). It is quiet and peaceful with wonderful views all around. The Wi-Fi is very slow unless no one is using it and they do not have Cable TV which is the only reason I did not give it a 10 rating. I highly recommend this park to anyone visiting the Luray area. We will definitely return again when we are in that area of VA. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is now a KOA. Owners are the same. Wi-Fi did not work, so we had to use our own Wi-Fi card. Power in campground went out once during our stay. Great sites, beautiful, very quiet. The rate is fairly competitive to nearby campgrounds. Water pressure is indeed low, and some sites not level, but our site was. They can work on making ALL sites level. Will return if rates continue to stay under $50. Very dog friendly and outstanding landscaping. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is now a KOA park and a very nice one at that. Front desk and management are very courteous, friendly and helpful. Pool looked very clean and inviting. All the sites are very clean, level with enough room to move around without bothering your neighbors. South end spots get a nice view of scenic surrounding mountains. The bathrooms and bath-house were cleaned daily and kept well stocked of necessities. Fire pits are a tad on the small side but adequate. A gas station is just down the road and Wal-Mart just north of the Luray caverns. We would definitely return. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

I was really surprised that my 3 day (off season) stay was fantastic here. I was greeted by a very friendly lady who for the life of me cannot pronounce her name. I forgot to stop at an ATM before I checked in and she loaned me bundles of firewood until I could get cash the next day. I can't remember a place that I have stayed at that was so accommodating. The sites were immaculate, the view incredible, and the hookups worked perfectly. The only drawback to this place is no cable TV hookups which if my kids had tagged along would prove to be a problem. I think the owners are aware of this and hopefully will make a change in the future. I learned that this campground is now a KOA. I stayed here in early April which was off season and most activities were not happening yet, but I could see the potential. I would definitely return. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Good Sam Park. Beautiful park if you want to see the Shenandoah Valley at its finest. And less that 5 miles to the Luray Caverns, Walmart, restaurants, etc. Very peaceful level CG, on a very exposed plateau surrounded by mountains. The wind can be a little wicked so bring your windbreaker. Very peaceful. Rooster will wake you up about 6:30am every morning, and there's a lot of room between sites and lots of grass for your dogs to play on (on leash of course). The tent site areas are very nice. Hosts are very accommodating. The showers/restrooms are very nice and clean, with plenty of hot water to boot. Do not recommend coming down 95 and crossing the mountains by route 211, trip is very, very, very steep. Come down/up by route 340. Would stop here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a great campground, and could be a "10" with a couple of tweaks. First, it would be nice to get a welcome packet for campground layout, etc and include local sights/dining, etc. Big rigs can get around OK, but the interior roads are very narrow, no way 2 vehicles can pass each other. We found the owners to be very friendly and helpful. They take great pride in their campground, the grounds and landscaping are very well maintained. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring. Some sites are sat friendly, so if that is important, tell them when you make your reservation. The book exchange is one of the most organized I have ever seen, excellent selections. The signage to the campground is excellent. Overall, a great camping experience. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was my first time camping in an RV ever, and what a great experience! I had spent years growing up tenting, and my boyfriend recently purchased the travel trailer that we took out to Country Waye. The area was very scenic, quiet, and close to Luray and the Shenandoah Park entrance off of 211. The pool was never busy, and the crowd staying was older without many kids around, but lots of dogs- I think the families tend to stay at the Jellystone nearby. The owner was very friendly, the grounds well landscaped and maintained - we had a fantastic stay. We will most definitely be back and recommending this place to anyone visiting the Shenandoah Park, and very likely choosing the site to seasonal in the future. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

A nice RV park with a friendly owner. The sites are gravel as well as a small patio. The sites have a fire ring and a patio table. Our biggest complaint was the lack of water pressure. Even though the park was nearly empty the water pressure was in the 30# range. It made for some difficulty taking showers. I used my water pump to increase the pressure enough for my wife to wash her hair. The park seems well maintained, and many of the sites surround a large grass area. I would stay here again. Absolutely the finest park we've ever been in. Wonderful layout, easy in/out for our 38 footer (with 12 foot trailer). The campsites are layer out around a 10 or 12 acre center grassy area, makes you think it's a huge front yard. This unique layout eliminates looking out your window at another camper. Driving north, I feel the signs marking the entrance to the park are in the wrong place, nearly leading me into a private drive. The pull thru sites are not wide, and they have placed landscape timbers to hold the gravel in. This makes it very difficult to get into the pad without hitting those timbers if you are still towing. Hook-ups were too far forward on the site and trees were planted in an area that blocked satellite and made maneuvering difficult. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a fine park that is being meticulously maintained. The on-site owners clearly care a lot about this campground. The clean gravel roads are set off with flower and bush islands that give a great ambiance to the park. While there were few kids around during our stay, the big grassy field at the center of the facility seems to call out for a game of catch or Frisbee. The park uses both long back-in spaces as well as parallel parking pull-through spaces. If you can fit in one of the back-ins at the top of the park, you will undoubtedly be happy. My only nit (besides a slightly elevated sewer outlet) was that the abundant landscaping made maneuvering a big-rig a little tricky if you weren’t in the right location. To be fair to the park, I made the mistake of driving through the lane designed for parking spaces instead of the smaller outside road which would have made my maneuvering easier. We had no problem with water pressure during our stay, so perhaps the prior reviewer who did got a weak site. We would definitely stay here again when we are in the area. The daily rate reflects an extended stay of several weeks. The owners of this park a just a pleasure to deal with. They are extremely friendly and accommodating. You can tell they have taken great pride and care in building this park. The sites are huge, well graveled, nicely laid out and landscaped. The entire park is meticulously groomed, providing for pleasant views in all directions. It is one of the few parks where there is probably more open space than RV space. Being tucked away from the highway, it is extremely quiet. Though there are cattle on some adjoining land, neither odor or insects seem to be a problem. The campground is just minutes from the caverns, historic downtown and Wal-Mart. Luray also has a very nice walking path downtown just minutes away. The only negative that got in the way of 10 stars was the water pressure. I was only getting 20-30# of static pressure at my site. I didn't talk to any neighboring campers to see if they had the same experience. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was a great RV park. The owners were on site and very nice. The sites are level with beautiful landscaping around. There is a lot of grass and the children and dog had a great time running. The pool, laundry and bathroom, large showers were extremely clean and very well maintained. This is a very well run and relaxing park. The views of the surrounding mountains and farms is gorgeous. We had a great stay and would definitely visit this park again. They have pool and a nice playground. They surrounding area was great for biking. The Wi-Fi was strong. We camped here in a Motorhome.

One of the prettiest parks we have ever camped in. Full hookup level sites are wide and long. All sites have fire rings: holes dug into the ground surrounded by landscape bricks. Views are wonderful. Campground is located between two sets of mountains. Has a nice pool and lots of green space. Price reflects 4th of July pricing. We will be returning with our camping group later in the year. Immaculate campground located in the Shenandoah Valley with 360 degree views of the surrounding mountains. Has large, level gravel sites, many pull through sites. We tried several sites during our stay and had a good WiFi signal at each site. An extremely peaceful place to relax after touring the nearby historical sites and Skyline Drive. The owners are lovely people who make every effort to make your stay with them enjoyable and they are eager to point out nearby attractions to add to your enjoyment of this beautiful area. Their pride and their hard work at Luray RV Resort Country Waye is evident everywhere. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We came for two days and stayed for 2.5 weeks. This campground is an absolute gem in the middle of the Shenandoah Valley. You are convenient to the Shenandoah National Park, Harper's Ferry (hour's drive), Luray Caverns, Shenandoah Heritage Market, New Market, etc., etc. The campground is pristine, beautifully landscaped, excellent interior roads, with a good access road from highway 340. We were in the SE corner on the campground and had an excellent Wi-Fi signal. Our site was pretty level and it looked like all of the others were. The owners are from Switzerland and the Swiss attribute (we have been to Switzerland a couple of times) of everything being exactly correct is very evident with their labor of love with Luray RV Resort. We were in site 99 where your curb side is directly on a very large mowed grass field (there are a bunch of sites surrounding the grass field.) Here you are in rolling farm and ranch land but only five miles from the Wall-Mart. You are 0.5 miles from Hwy 340 so there is a little traffic noise during the day, but it is really quiet at night. Maybe once or twice a day you might hear a train horn, but the nearest tracks are maybe two or three miles away in Luray. The water pressure is a little on the low side at about 30-40 psi, but we kept our water tank filled and used our on-board pump to keep the pressure up. If this RV park had all paved roads and concrete pads, I would have rated it a "10." In any case, this is one of our favorite campgrounds we have discovered in 55,000+ miles of RVing. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Campground was very quiet. Not much for children here, other than a swing set. But nice for adults who want a quiet night of sleep. Sites are nice. I would have given it a 10, but was not impressed with woman who I assume is one of the owners. When we asked for a level & quiet site. She told us, "you don't have to tell me anything". I wasn't telling, I was asking. Would have appreciated a little better answer that what I got. Of course, I guess she knows, there are only two campgrounds in Luray, so I guess she doesn't care how she answers to her customers. The campground was far from full. We camped here in a Motorhome.

My husband and I LOVE this campground. It is beautiful, well managed, the bathrooms and showers gleam with cleanliness. Pretty much every site is a good site and it doesn't matter how full the campground is, it is always pleasant and quiet. The owners live on-site so there is a feel that you are a guest at their home. The grounds are beautifully manicured, lots of flowers in the summer, beautiful mountain views and the view of the stars in the night sky is out of this world. It is a wonderful place for families: but you never get the feel that the place is overrun by children. There is enough space so that everyone is comfortable. Park has a couple of wonderful hosts and they are always making improvements. It is clear that theirs is a labor of love. I can't recommend this delightful campground highly enough. I camped here for two nights/three days in late October. It was a delightful stay and a beautiful spot from which to enjoy the colors of autumn. Everything was perfectly maintained. I was camping in a tiny teardrop camper, yet the "neighbors" were friendly, and the staff was kind, helpful, and respectful. This RV Resort is wonderful. We stayed here in the fall, during their quiet season, they were almost closing. So the park was very quiet. If you stay here, expect a very clean park, well spaced sites, accommodates big rigs and is pet friendly. Although we didn't use the bathrooms, they appeared very clean, as was the laundry room. On the Saturday night here, they had live music playing in the park which was wonderful! The park staff and owners were all very friendly and helpful. Only caution, do not drive here in the dark, the signs are small and hard to read and the small country roads make it difficult to navigate in a big rig in the dark. In the daylight, it's very easy to find the park. We'd definitely stay here again! We camped here in a Motorhome.

We have camped here several times over the years and love it. Like most campgrounds, some sites have better views than others. Our only complaint is that the owners are more than happy to accept your credit card number to reserve a specific site, but your chances of getting the site you reserved when you get there are remote because they have no reservations about giving your site to someone else who is going to stay longer. Solution; we will no longer make reservations there, if the site we want is available we will stop and if not we will move on. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We did not use the showers or laundry, but they appeared clean. We also did not use the Wi-Fi, good Verizon signal so we used our air card. "We had a great stay at Country Waye!" Very few campgrounds afford the surrounding natural beauty and the carefully cultivated beauty within Luray RV Resort - Country Waye. We stayed a full week in the spacious full service site, quite possibly one of the best in which we've ever camped. There is genuine interest from the hosts in every camper enjoying the stay. With a roomy site, a great pool and mountain vistas in every direction, Country Waye is a destination in itself. The Owners's have invested with their heads and hearts into the planning of this resort, which offers peace and tranquility without being two far from other touristy towns and sites. Although we visited family, took in the sights, rode the parkway, Country Waye is a place to enjoy contentment. Never have I seen a cleaner facility. I camped here with my wife and son for 2 nights. The campground was very clean and there were flowers blooming everywhere. The people were very nice and helpful. Since I am new to RV'ing, I am terrible at backing up my trailer. A staff member guided me to my site and helped me back my trailer into my site. Overall a very nice, clean, and family oriented campground. The reason that I did not give this campground a "10" is because (1) the sites are very close together so there is not a lot of privacy or seclusion and (2) many of the sites were out in the open (not shaded). The free Wi-Fi was nice to check emails, but the signal was weak at my site and internet access was very slow. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here over the Independence Day weekend along with five other families in motor coaches. We all agreed that it is a very nice campground and we plan to revisit it soon. You can tell that the owners/managers take great pride in it. The grounds were well manicured, and the flowers throughout the park were in full bloom. Our pull through site was level and spacious with a lot of grass, a patio with picnic table, and a nice campfire ring. There is a large grassy field in the center of the campground where the children played, either on the equipment or ball games. They also have a separate swimming pool area. There is a covered pavilion with picnic tables where we gathered for a cookout (using the grill provided by the campground). After dinner, we were entertained with live music (provided by the campground). On the 4th, from the campground, we watched the fireworks explode over the sky of downtown Luray. The campground is surrounded by mountains and fields with crops and live stock, making a very serene campground setting. They have a separate camping area for tents. To our delight, the owners are very particular about how the campground is run and will not tolerate people who do not follow their listed rules and regulations. We stayed here over the fourth. The campground is well maintained by owners who clearly care about their campground. Small touches clearly indicate this. The fact that the PH, chlorine and temperature are listed daily are one such example. An employee personally helping us back our trailer in at 9 pm is another. Beautiful campground with very large level graveled sites, quiet, expansive lawn, outstanding views of mountains and farmland. However, overall experience was hurt by the grumpy-like nature of the owner-manager compared to management attitudes and customer service at neighboring campgrounds. If you enjoy the TV show "Big Brother," this is the campground for you! The lady running the place is keeping an eye on you from the moment you step foot on the campground. I should have known something was up when the owner called me a week out asking if I would send a check instead of using credit card because she didn't want to pay the card fee. When we arrived, we realized three nights was probably a bit much for this resort...Don't get me wrong, Luray Caverns and the mountain views were wonderful, but I could have enjoyed those camping at the Walmart parking lot. The campground is basically a grassy field with gravel sites, our site was fairly level and easily accommodated my 43 foot DP. I saw other sites where the gravel could not support the RVs and many wood blocks were needed to make things level. There is a big grassy courtyard that half the park opens up to, at first this seems nice, but soon you realize this is the breeding ground of a variety of insects that at night come to life and swarm anything with light. The other purpose of this lot is for the management to walk around checking for any unpaid visitors or guests. The management seems to be a little predjudice toward big rigs, if you have a tent full of people she tends to waive the $6 per person visitor fee, but if "you can afford an RV," look out, she'll try to nickel and dime you to death! And if you booked three nights and decide only two are needed to see the caverns and city, don't bother asking them to shorten your reservation, she's likely to start ranting and raving in incomprehensible English in 10 minute intervals...then, just when you think she's done and walking away, she'll turn around and rant some more, to the point you want to run into your RV and lock the door. I especially pity the family next door, they had about 6 kids ($3-$6 each in addition to $47 a night)...The manager was watching those kids like a hawk. I don't know about you, but when I camp I like to be a little carefree. If you decide to stay here, be sure to check your receipt and be sure to draw your blinds...as the management will be watching! We take our baseball equipment, bikes, games, etc., and pass the time simply by being together. It's not unusual for other campers to stop by your site and chat for a while, too. I can understand some previous posts complaining about the reservation mix-ups. Shulamit has it all in her head, so it does sometimes cause confusion if her husband or one of the work-campers a signs a site that Shulamit has saved for someone else (but didn't write it down). But she remembers your name if you return, so it makes the reservation process much smoother. There are no bad sites at this campground, so if you can get over the low-tech reservation process you'll be glad you gave it a try. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Fantastic views of the mountains. Owners were pleasant. Sites easy to access and of sufficient size. Cable would be helpful, but local stations came in with antenna. Nice areas for kids to play. Good place to stay if visiting Luray Caverns or Skyline Drive. Town of Luray has a couple of nice places to eat at on Main Street. Would have rated higher if had cable and better stocked store. But would definite stay here if visiting area again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We came here based on the rave reviews. However, perhaps because of the great reviews, I was expecting much more. If you like camping in an open field with no hiking trails, then maybe this place is for you; but not for me. The scenery is nice, but isn't as spectacular as everyone made it out to be. Other than that, a fairly decent place and no complaints. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The campground was clean and well kept and beautifully landscaped. The sites were large and level and the access roads were wide enough to navigate easily. It was easy to get to, but far enough from any roads so that there was no traffic noise at all. We did not camp with children so were not looking for activities, but the playground appeared to be nice and was centrally located. We would definitely stay here again. In 25 years of camping this is the best RV park I have ever stayed in. The grounds are spotless, and the mountain views magnificent. The sites are large and landscaped with bushes and flowers. The layout is unique in that the sites surround a common area that is at least 100 x 300 yards. All sites are graveled and mostly level. The electric, water and sewer connections, at least in my area, are all new . The staff is very friendly and take pride in their park. There is free live entertainment in the common area Saturday nights. The Wi-Fi is excellent in fact I am on it right now. Some might say that there is nothing for kids to do. I disagree; yesterday afternoon into the evening I sat and watched probably 15 to 20 kids of all ages running and "playing" in the common area. No video games, no ipods, no TV, just kids having fun. It was great to watch and reminded me of camping trips in my youth. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is my second review of this campground. I can not compliment the owners enough on their wonderful campground. This husband and wife team are constantly on the move to improve and maintain their "little piece of heaven". First off, they are friendly and make you feel like they truly value your patronage. They provide 50 amp service, full hook-up sites with plenty of breathing space, long pull-thrus, a lush green space for everyone to enjoy and a beautifully landscaped open-air pavilion. There is not a great deal of activities to keep children occupied, so do think about that when deciding whether to stay or not. We particularly love it here because of that very reason. It's quiet, no cable (which enables us to get rid of that TV for a week) and we absolutely love everything about this campground. When I think of peaceful RVing, I think of Country Waye. We come here every year at "apple time". Job well done Owners !! THANK YOU very much: your devotion, dedication and hard work shows and we appreciate it! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The sites are constructed to be level and very usable. As stated in other reviews I didn't see a bad site there. The grounds are VERY well maintained, no a speck of trash; the pool had so few users it seemed like a private pool. While I didn't use the restrooms and showers, I checked them out while I was using the laundry and everything appeared spotless. I had very little contact with the staff other than at checkin which was smooth and efficient. Other than the pool and a small playground there is very little for kids to do but overall a very clean, quiet place with great views. Good place to kick back and relax. What a great place to get away to!! We arrived around 10:30pm and Erich was still up and escorted us to our site. Woke up in the morning to birds chirping and a great view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Resort was full for the Holiday weekend but everyone was respectful. The owners are great, polite, accommodating and run a tight resort making sure that everyone is happy and the campers are all following the rule. One side is surrounded by a nice corn field the other side has a magnificent view of the rolling hill side, mountains and a field of sheep. Wi-Fi was decent, dropped out a few times only do to the thunderstorms that were rolling though. Had a gentleman playing a guitar and singing on Sat night, also they have a huge Yurt that they use for various entertainment (if weather is bad and cannot be done outside). I would recommend this resort to anyone that is looking for a great getaway. Cannot say enough about this place. We will be back numerous times (already booked). We camped here in a Motorhome.

The owner came to my site to see if he could help, and he was able to get everything running. He was very helpful and accommodating. The pool is small, but it is in decent condition. The views of the mountains from around the campground are stunning. There is no road noise at all…it is a very quiet place. There was music on Saturday night in a centrally located gazebo. This campground was great. The other reviews here are spot-on regarding the sites and the facilities. The hostess was neat to talk with. She takes running the campground very seriously. She makes sure guests and their visitors are considerate of their neighbors. You get the idea very quickly that if you were to throw a big party late into the night with a lot of noise that you would be asked to leave. This is a beautiful location as well. After reading the not so favorable reviews about the reservation system that this campground uses, I called and confirmed my reservation twice, just to be sure. Since we were going to arrive after the office closed, we were told a note will be left on the office door for us telling us which site we had. As promised, there was a map with our site highlighted, and the best way to get to it was also highlighted. We had one of the parallel pull through sites. There was a trailer already in front of our site and one already in back of our site. Pulling into our slot was not difficult although it was close to their landscaping rails. The next morning we stopped by the office to check in and we spoke with an owner about our concerns about the reservations system and why I had called twice to confirm. We had absolutely no problems with our reservations. Our site had a beautiful view. The sites are nicely spaced and you get a feeling of wide open green spaces because the center of the park is very much like a park. They have a playground for kids, a pavillion, and yurt (where they had singing on Saturday night). The restrooms were clean. This campground is very well maintained and off the beaten path, surrounded by farms. We are very happy we stayed here and will return. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an immaculately maintained mid-sized rural campground with great scenic views of the mountains from virtually every campsite. Located 2.8 miles from Luray, virtually all noise of civilization (the occasional faint drone of a truck in the distance can be noticed late at night). This park is an exception to the "rule" that all campgrounds must be within hearing of a railroad. It does have an Internet cafe in the office building (the rate was $2 for the 1st hour, and $1 for each hour thereafter). Were this not such an excellent place we'd consider the daily costs excessive. The rate cited was the Good Sam member rate including taxes. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Very nice, clean campground. We had a large group of 9 people including our 4 grandchildren and the owners were very accommodating. Our site was huge and they allowed us to park 3 vehicles on the site and put up a tent in addition to our trailer. They put us right in front of the playground which was great for the kids and for us to be able to keep an eye on them. Only reasons I did not give this campground a 10 were: 1) the bathroom and showers were very clean but only had 2 mens and 2 womens showers stalls for the entire campground. At times we had to wait to shower. 2) The swimming pool was quite a distance away, down a very large hill near the office with no parking available. With 4 small kids and a bum knee, it was an issue. Other than these two issues, it is a great campground and we will go there again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Quaint and charming campground! This was our first time staying here but will not be our last. We usually stay at the Jellystone Campground when we're in Luray. One weekend that we were there, we drove thru Country Waye to check it out since it had received such good reviews on this website. The day after getting back home we called Country Waye to make reservations for the following weekend. It is a peaceful and quiet campground surrounded by farmland and pasture. Typical sounds at the campground: children laughing and playing, birds chirping, cattle moo-ing, occasional dog barking, and the buzz of insects at night. No golf carts running up and down the campground. We were in some of the newer sites, and they were very long. Thankfully we didn't have anyone on either side of us to block the beautiful mountain views. This is a small campground so don't expect some of the amenities that the larger RV resorts offer. But our children (7 and 4) had just as much fun here as anywhere else. Maybe more so since we gave them more freedom to do things independently. (You can see the playground and whole campground from just about any campsite.) We were impressed by the cleanliness and "homey" feel of this campground. And remember I mentioned hearing the cattle? That was the only drawback: when the wind blew just right you could smell cow manure. But, that comes along with the rural setting of the campground. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is one of our favorite campgrounds in the valley. We come in the fall when it's "apple time". This campground is small and quaint with lush green manicured sites. The views of the mountains are breath-taking especially after a rain shower when a rainbow stretched from one peak to another. I would not recommend this campground if you have children as there is very little to keep them entertained (which is why we love it so much). It's quiet, peaceful and just downright relaxing. They do not have cable which for some is extremely important but for us not a problem at all. We take this time to catch up on reading and just getting away. We don't use the restroom facilities so I can't comment on them. Just the beauty of the campground is reason enough to visit this gem tucked away between the mountains. Some previous reviews mentioned that the parallel pull through sites were a little hard to get into because they were a bit curved. However, there were also regular pull through sites that were straight, long, level and easy to maneuver into. The showers were very clean, but I don’t think they were heated. A good campground. I'd rate it higher if it had paved roads and true pull-thrus. They are adding about 20 new sites and all will be pull-thrus. And a clubhouse expansion is in the works. I did not like the 'parallel' pull-thrus. The grade getting into them could be a challenge. There has been little rain this year consequently the roads are dusty. I had to get the car washed after pulling in the driveway. Rather pricey at almost $40 per night. I stayed here to visit a relative in Fairfax - 80 miles each way. On the way I found the Greenville Farm Family Campground in Haymarket - only 25 miles - I will use it the next time. Greenville now has about 10 pull-thrus with 50 amp service. And $25 per night. A bit more primitive though. We camped here in a Motorhome.

First off, I must say that I really like this park. It is very quiet with some nice mountain views and the sites are roomy and not real close together. It is convenient to almost everything in the Luray area. However, my problem with the campground is the way it is managed. We have stayed here twice and both times have had problems with the office. The first time, the owner would not honor my Good Sam or AAA discount because it was a holiday weekend. The second time, I reserved 2 particular sites on a Monday and was told by the owner that they were mine. However, when we got there, the one site was unavailable and my in-laws were forced to stay on a site away from us for one night and then move to the site on the other side of ours (not the one we originally booked) for the second night. When I inquired about why the site I booked on Monday was not available on Friday, she said that she could not ask the guy in the Class A that was currently on the site to move. But, she had no problem asking my father-in-law to move his trailer which is a lot more work. So, basically, if you book a site (or a group of sites) at this campground just know you are guaranteed a site in the park and not the particular one you asked for. And, if you have a Good Sam, FMCA or AAA membership, don't expect to get the discount on any holiday weekends (even though their website lists no exclusions). This could be a great campground if it were properly managed... We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

My wife retired from teaching, so this is the first time we have camped for a week after August. We chose Country Waye to begin a new adventure, and were extremely pleased with the entire campground, the scenic views, and the very good attitude of the owners. We were not disappointed in any way, and look forward in returning next year. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here for 3 months (May-August 2005) and would definitely return! This is a quiet campground, but family/kid friendly, with plenty of space to play. The sites are large; we had a pull-thru with mountain views. The park is very pretty, neat and clean; the restrooms and laundry room were spotless. It is obvious the owners care about their campground, and are continuously updating sites and amenities. This is one of the best campgrounds we have stayed in! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The views from our hilltop site, the peaceful atmosphere, the clean pool and the spotless bathrooms and laundry room were all top-notch. We are repeat campers here and always enjoy our stay. Free wi-fi access is definitely a bonus. The only snag this time was a problem with our reservation. They showed us arriving on a date other than the one we had reserved. They did accommodate us anyway; however (considering some of the previous negative reviews on this subject) I would ask for an email confirmation next time, or maybe call again before our trip to confirm. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This campground is perfect for a weekend retreat! The staff were very helpful and extremely friendly. They are currently making a number of campground improvements with all the construction projects going on. We really enjoyed the surrounding area, as well as the nice Brookside Restaurant they recommended! We will be back! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This park does have some great views. However, the side by side pull thorugh sites are rather small,a little difficult to enter without damaging landscaping and not too well suited to outdoor use. The few sites running parallel to fence line on west side are very good. Other sites spread around have no real views of the beautiful terrain. The worst problem is extremely dusty entrance road used to reach and leave sites. It coats engine radiator (and coach) setting up the potential for engine trouble and makes a mess of vehicles. I found female owner both charming and off putting at times. The later when she obviously is not pleased with some aspect of your plans like staying only one night in a parallel site or changing a reservation. Stayed here a number of times over last 12 months. Like it but I keep looking for an alternative due to road condition. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice owners and a beautiful view of Shenandoah Nat'l Park. Site was a bit tight to back in to. Some sites are being lengthened with railroad crosstie but have had no fill dirt added which caused problems trying to stabilize camper. They said they are intending to fill in soon, but should have given me a longer site. Extremely quiet camprgound and immaculate bathouse and laundry. Kid's playground needs some serious work and very run down versus picture on website. I would stay here again if in the area. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This campground is awesome and very high on our list of favorites. We are full timers who travel with two golden retrievers (not the smallest dogs around). We have very much enjoyed our stay here and will be back anytime we are in the area. Our reservation, made three months prior was handled very efficiently, even when we called to see if we could come 2 days early and then asked how late the office was open. The owner was fantastic, answering, Of course we can accommodate you and dont worry about when you get here, when you arrive, we will make you comfortable. Now thats an answer! The dogs were also welcomed, but of course we pick up after them! The spaces are separated nicely with plenty of room for us with 3 slides and a dually pickup, have very level bases, a picnic table, fire pit and easy hook ups. The campground is located at the top of a small hill with a well-maintained drive. The view from our windows is hills to both sides with farmland between; I imagine it must be spectacular in the fall. It is 6 miles from a super Wal-Mart and easily accessible from Luray. I do suggest bringing your satellite dish since the local channels are pretty sketchy. I chose this from the Trailer Life book and encourage you to make the stop if in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is just a wonderful campground. Beautifully maintained, incredible views of the mountains - this is what camping in an RV should all be about. We spent a week here while hiking in the Shenadoah National Park. This is not a place where you will find an hourly list of activities, but rather a gorgeous place where you are right next to the national park, but have the ease and comfort of full hookups. This place is near the top of my list of wonderful campgrounds. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is one of the best campgrounds that I've been to. The manager/owner made my wife and I feel very welcome by greeting us with a big smile, a small bill, and a great campsite with a beautiful view of the mountains and valley. The grounds were well maintained, the restrooms and showers were spotless, and the hospitality was second to none. Thanks Country Waye for a wonderful weekend and a great experience! Reading all the reviews, I'm wondering if we stayed in the same place! We found the owners here to be very pleasant, but the rest of what we experienced here was very ordinary. The actual campground is off the beaten path several miles from the interstate which can be very good, however, there are some steep hills to climb and desend in order to get there. Once you arrive, you must climb another steep hill in order to get up to the actual sites. Once up there, the views are pleasant. We did find it somewhat difficult to get into our site which was barely wider than the RV and had landscaping ties all along the sides that were difficult to avoid hitting while pulling in and out. I wouldn't avoid going back, but I'm not sure I would rush back either! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We have stayed here before and it was nice but the last time they lost our reservations too. In fact they came and apologized but gave the site to a regular customer not us. Not the way to run a business. We have been there many times but no more. I think they need to improve their reservation system to solve this. It is a nice campground but you don't know if you have a spot till you are in it even if you have a reservation. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Not only is this campground wonderful, the owners are too. The campground has a lot of open space - not crammed with sites like a lot of other campgrounds. We are full-timers and will go out of the way to get back to Country Waye. This one of our favorite campgrounds in the entire country. Don;t miss it! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We made a reservation and we had to reschedule for another date. When we arrived on the rescheduled day they did not have our reservation and they claimed they were full. They apologized and remembered our reservation but did nothing to accommodate us. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT. I personally believe they cancelled our reservation because we rescheduled. It really appears they are dishonest and take rescheduling as a personal attack on their campground. They will NEVER get my business. My family had to return home because all the other campgrounds were full. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We had an excellent experience here. The bath house was in the process of being upgraded. The owners were friendly and helpful. While I was under the RV doing a repair, the first employee to pass by came over to see if we needed any assistance. The pool was small but clean and well-maintained as were the grounds and each campsite. Lots of open space, but our site had several trees as well as a wonderful view. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Some years ago, I met an elderly man who, along with his dog, had been RV'ing for over 30 years. He told me that he loved it, and said that his idea of heaven was a perfect RV park somewhere in the great beyond. I can't know for sure but I would not be surprised if, when he goes, he wakes up in this park. Country Waye is not your usual RV park. The sites are huge, the open area is vast, and it sits in a green oasis in the Shenandoah Valley, overlooking some of the most beautiful mountains you have ever seen. The sites are level, the roads and sites are heavily stoned, and the view from every single site is heavenly. The park can accommodate the largest rigs. The owners have provided an internet cafe inside the office/store area and, most unusual this day and time, have satellite hookups and free Wi-Fi for guests. And guests are what they consider their visitors--not just paying customers. The owners serve up all this beauty, peace, and solitude with a helping of great love for what they do, and for the people who choose to stay with them, and they keep the place immaculate. They are superb people. The park offers a playground for children, a nice pool, a large field for sports, a pavillion, fire rings, a picnic table and a patio at every site, and more. The park is near Luray Caverns and dozens of other attractions, yet it could be in the middle of nowhere it is so quiet and peaceful. You will fall in love with this place. We will be back time and time again! We camped here in a Motorhome.

The park is fabulous!! It is a little piece of heaven here on earth. The view of the Shenandoah and George Washington National Parks is spectacular. The sites are large, with shade trees on every site. The bathhouse is very clean and is being expanded this summer (2004). The owners are wonderful, they care about the campers, and look out for everyone's belongings. We watched the owner work for an hour to fix the awning on a fifth wheel that had been damaged during high winds. We will definitely go back!! We stayed for a week. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This campground is a hidden gem! Our site faces a huge grass activity field that measures 100 yards by 100 yards and out beyond that is a magnficient view of the mountains. Every site is level and very neatly manicured. The campground is surrouned by farm fields and very peaceful and quiet. Easy acces to Luray Caverns, Shenandoah National Park and there is a Wal-Mart Super Center 6 miles away. What more could you possibly ask for. This campground is a must visit choice. As I write this we are at the campground on October 20, 2003 and enjoying the fall foilage in the distant view of the moutains to the east & west. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The rate quoted above was the "Big Rig full hookup rate" and the "Full Hookup Site" is $28. They have a very clean bath house that is centrally located. They have wonderful mountain views and nice level sites. They have been upgrading the sites to more 50 amp sites and have opened a section of big rig pull thru sites with wonderful views. They have live entertainment on Saturday nights in season and have just installed a WiFi and repeater for a Directway internet hookup and it is free. It is a park that is quite and really caters to adults and families that do not need the park to babysit their children. I don't want to implie they don't welcome children, just that they don't have much other than a small pool and playground to entertain them. They had a Boy Scout Troop camping there this weekend in tents and they had a good time. It is close to Luray Caverns and the Skyline Drive. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The Country Waye is one of the finest campgrounds we have experienced in 5 years of RV'ing. The owners are wonderful people who truly love their home and want to share it with their guests. The bathhouse is the cleanest we have ever seen. The impromptu sing-alongs around campfires with the wonderful folks who keep coming back to this special place are really fun. There is an internet cafe for those who can't get away from the 'net. This is a special place for folks who like people and love beautiful views. You can't do better than this.
