Rate reflects a 1/2 day discount for a four night stay. The setting is lovely with back in sites only. The vast majority of sites back directly to the river's edge. We were here in the fall and the location and surrounding areas were fantastic for leaf peeping. Both Wi-Fi and cable TV were good. If you are an angler then you can enjoy casting ten feet from your door. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. If coming from the east on route 33, turn right just before the four lane. A highway sign at the turn showing camping "left." Ignore it and make the right hand turn. Would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We had a river site...which is a nice good size river. The site was huge. It was really nice being right on the river, with windows open you can hear it running and I caught 6 bass at about 7PM. The campground is more for just having a camp fire, fishing, riding bikes, etc. Pool is a short drive away so not really practical. Its either you love the laid back style of the campground or you hate it. I loved it. Its country. Being from Connecticut its very different here...Cable TV was also good, all hookups were good. Nice campground here in the WV mountains. Nice getaway in nature. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We had a spot on what they called a river. You could walk across so it wasn't very deep (great for kids to play in looked pretty clean). Sites were small but some were shaded. The campground was gravel roads and older but was kept in decent repair. Showers/Restrooms were a little older but the ones we used were pretty clean and there was plenty of hot water. Friendly staff and all in all an OK place to stay for a couple nights. They had a newer large bar restaurant in the back area that we didn't have the chance to use. Internet didn't work the 2 nights we were there and the cable was out for part of our stay. If we went to the area again we would stay there again. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
This is a nice park if you use the sites along the stream. These sites are level grass w/ all hookups. The store is well stocked, and the the grounds are well kept. Being able to walk ten steps from your rig to fish in shavers fork is awesome! No pool on grounds, but they own the old Jellystone park, so you can use all the facilities there. By far my favorite park. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Best thing about this park is it's location. Right in the middle of many area attractions. We went east one hour to Seneca Rock one day, south one hour to Durbin and the Steam train the next day. Rest rooms are very old and small, but clean. The camp ground is clean, but the sites are very close together. Moreover, many if not most of the sites are grass/dirt/gravel, and few seem to be level. The interior road of the cg has numerous potholes. Some sites are open field camping. We came in a 36 foot RV. Easy in and out. The directions to the cg are somewhat misleading as well. The directions say "stay on four lane until it ends." What it should say is "follow US 33 East through Elkins until you come to Faulkner Road. " We camped here in a Motorhome.
Beautiful CG located in the valley of Cheat Mtn. Easy to get to, just off Rt 33 E of Elkins on Faulker Rd. I highly recommend the riverfront sites as they are very spacious & the sound of the stream flowing is so peaceful. Prices range from $15 tent no utilities/off-river to $25 for full h/u riverfront sites. Full h/u includes cable tv. Extra charges for heat/ac use. There are 2 CG's with the name Revelle's on Faulkner Rd. One is the River Resort & one is the Family CG. I think the RR is for seasonal/permanent rv-ing (even though the website home page comes up as the RR) , as we stopped there first, by mistake, & needed to go down the road another 3/4mi to the Family CG. Small playground, basketball court, horseshoe pits, stables on site for short to overnight rides, scenic train-ride nearby that will stop in CG for boarding on Sat's, snack shop, full service restaurant (both outside seating & inside a restored dining car), fishing, campstore, inner-tube rentals. They also have several cabins, cottages, couple of rv's...etc available for rent. We really enjoyed our stay here & would highly recommend this CG. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Management is very friendly and is clearly planning to make improvements to amenities (for example, will be adding float trips down the river soon). Trout stream was excellent. Laid back atmosphere. Wish they'd had a pool for my kids as my 3-year old was frustrated with the river. About an hour from Blackwater Falls and Canaan Valley (scenic winding roads). We camped here in a camper.
