This was a good park to stay in. The staff worked hard to keep the place clean and were updating all the time. We stayed here for three months. There were a lot of long time residents living here. There were also a lot of working people staying here. There were no special activities, and everyone stayed to pretty much to themselves, but it was a friendly quiet park and we would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Very unkempt park. Lacking facilities. No shade, windy and dusty at times. Great view of mountains to the west. Hookups were sufficient. Huge Wal-Mart 1.5 miles. Good location for going to Canon City (Royal Gorge Bridge). Not too much to do in Pueblo. Would stay again to visit friends. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We were in one of 6 new back-in sites on a deep bed of loose crushed concrete that desperately needs to be smoothed out to remove tire ruts, etc. The sewer connection was uphill from the pad causing problems dumping for lower diesel coaches. Super Wal-Mart is approximately 1.5 miles away, and handy to downtown. There are a considerable number of permanent residents. (What else to expect when you see the bank of mailboxes clearly numbered for each of the 54 sites!!!) No apparent rules or pride in appearance. The fifth wheel next to us had the ground around it totally covered with bicycles, a dirt bike, grills, ATV tires, ice chests, a kiddie wading pool crammed under the rear, and an assortment of unrecognizable debris scattered about. But we saw no children in the two days we were here. This is a no-frills, pretty peaceful location. Any of the pull-through sites would be better than the newer back-ins. We camped here in a Motorhome.
There are pros and cons to this park. The pros: large sites, very quiet, no rules as far as we could see. The cons: can be very windy and that means dusty, there are at least 4-5 loose big dogs that our small (leashed) dog had some problems with (the cons of "no rules"). In short, if you don't mind a lack of rules and like to be left alone this is a decent place. They have an arena where they have rodeos and other horse events periodically which were fun to see (for free). We stayed 6 weeks and will return if back in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
