This park is CLOSED. It was the closest to the ferry to Victoria and the handiest being only two blocks from the ferry. We did actually dry camp here two days with the consent of the caretaker, when we arrived late one night. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Office was very nice. Site was paved/grave,l slightly unlevel and very small. We had to take up two sites and park at an angle in order to fit which was fine with the office. Many/mostly full time very quiet residents. Steep hill down to the site, but no problem. Great site to walk .3 mile to ferry to go to Victoria. Also, great Chinese restaurant across from park entrance. The sewer system is in BAD need of repair. When we checked in, a large wet area reeked of urine near our sewer hook up. We did not dump our holding tank here as it didn't look like the sewer was working properly. Mostly just a place to park to go to Victoria. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a rundown park with about two or three sites large enough for larger rigs. There are mostly permanents here in some trailers and single-wide mobiles, but they are quiet. It's very tight and really no place for a larger rig to turn around in. You pull in and then back into your site and then, if you are short enough and no one is on your right, you can turn and pull out. I had to really cramp the wheel and almost jack-knifed pulling out that way, but I didn't hit anything. Most sites are best suited for rigs under 25'. It is however, relatively inexpensive, right in the middle of downtown and easy access to the Victoria ferry. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
In spite of the previous reviews, we decided to stay here because we wanted to be in Port Angeles for the weekend rather than in one of the out of town parks. While I can understand some of the prior negative comments, I do not believe this park is as bad now as it may have been several years ago. There are still many permanent sites and the sites available for overnighters are small and tight. The sites have full hookups with decent cable TV. The park worked for us but probably would not be acceptable to many other RVers. We camped here in a Motorhome.
About the only good thing about this park was its location - right in Port Angeles, letting you walk to everything. A distinct advantage. However, the park is basically a parking lot with mostly seasonal occupants, and pretty rundown. The bathrooms were a disaster. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We chose this park based on its location near the Victoria Ferry, and the pictures on the web site. Twenty sites are occupied by mobile homes that are not well kept. There are many cats roaming the park. The park is not well maintained. Donít be misled by the parkís web page. There are better choices within five to ten miles. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
