We called ahead as it had been a while since the campground was reviewed. It's still there and if you like low key, this fits the bill. You can walk around the town of Maybell in less than 15 minutes. There is a convenience store with fuel, (including diesel) and a cafe next door. We took a non hookup site but had if you wanted to pay $5 more, you could have electricity. The electrical sites are small but since this city park is lightly used, you could easily park and straddle two sites. There's even a modest kids' playground. We'd stop here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
What a really nice place. Just a simple city park in Maybell, CO, (the whole town is only a few blocks long) with everything you need for a quiet evening. Nothing whatsoever to do in Maybell, that seems to be the charm here, just really quiet. Excellent cafe across the street and small store next to it, with gas pumps. I believe this is also in the same county as Craig is, and it looks like this is also county owned facility. I will bypass Craig for this one. It was great! We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
