My family and I stayed two nights at this campground in a 33' RV. We stayed in site 6. The campground was clean but set up awkwardly. Our fire ring and picnic table were set up behind our camper. Site 7's fire ring and picnic tables were in front of their RV which meant it was right next to ours. This made for little privacy. Also there are several sites that appear to be permanently set up and not well maintained. The wildlife center and zoo are nice if you have kids. It is worth staying a night or two if you are passing through but I wouldn't go out of my way to stay here. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Great recreation area but, the RV sites are set up really weird. Half the sites have the picnic table on the wrong side of parking area. Also, almost all the sites have electric on one side and water on the other. Other then those few things everything else looked pretty good. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very nice parrish campground. Sites are large, paved and well-shaded. There are some pull-through sites and some sites with sewer as well as electric and water. There were no sewer sites available when we got here but the dump station is conveniently situated along the road on the way out of the campground. Plenty of family-friendly activities available. Watch carefully for signs along the road. The road forks near the campground: be sure to keep to the right. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a county-run facility (“Parish-run” in Louisiana) where we stayed for only one night. It is heavily wooded with shady sites, many of which offer appealing lake views. Very few of the sites have sewer hook-ups, and these were not available at the time we visited the park. Many of the sites are pull-throughs. All are paved with black-top. Interestingly, the park no longer has a limit on the length of stays, so that there are long-term residents (some of whose trailers and motorhomes have seen better days). When we arrived, one of the two bath houses was closed for repairs (although my wife ended up using the closed bath house because it turned out to be unlocked and workable). I would have preferred that the ranger who checked us in had told me of the closure before I’d selected a site and set up my unit. Also, the main road used to access the park was closed for repairs, so we had to drive 5-6 miles out of the way in order to gain entry. (I wish the person who I’d phoned at their ranger station prior to our arrival had told us about this). We camped here in a Motorhome.

We love this campground. Sites are large and shady. They have recently been repaved. There is a separate beach for rv'ers. On the property there is a petting zoo, nature center, catch & release fishing pond, and marina. There is a large beach and picnic areas for day use. A great family campground. Park rangers are very visible which make for a safe campground. Staff very friendly. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

It is a great park and I would rate it higher but there are no sewer hook ups. Beautiful lake, and most sites have nice view. We camped here in a Motorhome.
