The good: Great spot for an early overnight! The grass is the best I've ever seen for a public owned area, great playground equipment, large public pool 200 yards away (closes when college kids go back to school in early august so we didn't get to use it). Stayed on a Tuesday night, and it was just our party and one transient construction worker who retired early and never made a peep. Some medium sized shade trees that show great promise and shaded all the spots from late afternoon until dusk. Pay $10 on the honor system, and know it will go to maintaining the park, which is probably the best bargain I have ever seen for a campsite. Locals are friendly and helpful- typical small town good folks. The bad: concrete pads are short. If you have a big pusher, you're gonna stick out. My little 34 foot truck/trailer combo barely fit with my rear end hanging out over grass (but there's plenty of room, so don't feel bad sticking out into the parking lot). Half the pads are very level concrete, the rest are very level gravel. Back in only, no big deal if you know what you are doing. 2 acres of parking lot to turn around in. Concert block bathrooms, clean, no bad smells, but no showers. Now, about the trains. Lots of trains. About every 20 or 30 minutes or so, and about 500 yards to the southwest. If you don't mind trains, you'll get used to it fast. If you mind trains, DONT STAY HERE. I got used to it very quickly, and it's a minor inconvenience. A small general aviation airport to the south, but only heard one small general aviation plane take off all night, no problem. One small grocery store in town, and restaurants are limited, so plan accordingly. All in all, the best camping spot I've found on this trip. Would not hesitate to stay again. Best site for the money I've probably ever found. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a city run/owned park. Back in sites only, no slabs, great grass, no frills, very clean park except for bathrooms. There is a walking/exercise trail adjacent to the park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Inexpensive place to stay while traveling, not really a campground but has what you need for a night or two. Dump station is available in the park. Pay by leaving your money in an envelope, so you can arrive at any hour. We camped here in a Motorhome.
