Basic site but wonderful to find somewhere cool so close to Vegas. Perfect for a night's stopover. Bit tight for our 33' RV but not impossible and the pitch was a good size and not close to another. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This campground suffers from over-use and under-maintenance. Several folks roll or sneak in and use it as a day-use picnic area and treat it like the maid's coming by later to pick up for them. Trash in site, on trails, between sites. Roads are overgrown with trees and bushes scraping your rig every where you turn. People doing dishes at the fresh water spigots is never a good sign, bees collected there which made it a challenge to top up on water. When they close the campgrounds on the other side of the mountain next year for remodeling, we'll be looking for somewhere else to cool off on weekends. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This was a beautiful, cool area well outside the Las Vegas hubbub and heat. The host was professional and thorough, and the campsites were clean and well maintained. The campground is too far out for a quick overnight but perfect for a getaway. The vault toilets were clean and well stocked. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a National Forest Service campground located outside of Las Vegas Nevada in the Toiyabe National Forest. The elevation is 6900 feet and is just inside the ponderosa pine trees. It is an older campground but fairly well maintained and has many big ponderosa trees. Since is it is pretty close to Las Vegas it is a very popular spot for the locals and reservations can be difficult to get especially on summer weekends. There are no hookups and is similar to many of the National Forest Campgrounds that I have stayed in. The sites are fairly level and a certain number of them can be reserved through the recreation.gov website. The sites range in size and there are some that will take fairly big rigs as some of the sites are considered a double. We have 30ft trailer and can fit into most of them although some of them are difficult to back into. There are some hiking trails in the area and a small visitor center just up from the campground. There are very few services available on the mountain, although there is a lounge/restaurant a few miles up the road. One drawback is that the campground is right next to the main road going up the canyon and the traffic noise can be bad at times. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
