This was a REALLY nice, clean state park--one of the best we've ever visited. The sites were well spaced and very private. The web site also gives good information on slideout restrictions based on trees and other vegetation. Pay attention to this, several of the sites would not have been able to accommodate our slideouts. We stayed in the Buck Ridge campground and it was well-suited to our 38 footer. The roads were also well maintained and made the sites easy to back into. The only negative about this state park is that it is quite a distance from the town of Warsaw and there is really not much to do in this park other than hike--there is a nice lake and beach, but no fishing pier (you must rent a boat to fish or go elsewhere.) If you are looking for peace, quiet and privacy, this is a terrific state park. If you are traveling with kids I'd go elsewhere or bring a boat. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Another great MO state park campground. The restrooms were dated but clean. Level blacktop sites with electric only were $21 per night. The area surrounding the campground is beautiful. We felt we were all alone as the sites are well spaced and there were not many campers there in September. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is very nicely maintained State Park. There are several different areas to camp in and the one we picked was on the top of a hill. All of the sites had electricity and water. Our site had a large cleared area with picnic table. The lake is a short drive down a winding road. You are not able to see the lake from any of the campsites. There is a good centrally located dump and a fresh water fill station. There is a small playground. Each of the areas has their own camp host who can help you with where to camp. There are many trees and plenty of shade. We were not able to use our satellite dish. We would stay here again and for a longer period of time. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This campground has been a family favorite for many years. We had the best stay here, the showers are clean, the people are wonderful, the area is beautiful. I love this place and would recommend this campground to anyone. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Rate reflects a senior discount. Beautiful campground! The sites are nicely spaced and angled so that you have a nice view of the woods in most areas. Be sure you have a water bandit if you need to take on water as not all spigots have hose screw on capabilities! The water pressure seemed to be very high so getting wet while using a water bandit is likely. (Yes, I did!) The campground is only about 10 miles off Hwy. 65 but is very quiet. We enjoyed our one night stay and would definitely return for a longer visit. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Large paved back in sites. 30 amp electric, no water or sewer hookups. Can make online reservation at their website or find an available site by tags on post. If it's not reserved, there will be a tag on post showing how many days available. Camp host comes around and will register you. Playground, boat launch, swim areas and dump station available. Water is available but not on sites. Clean, quiet, with beautiful views of the Truman reservoir. Town is within 7 miles and a visitor center that is worth the stop. Clean, free showers with plenty of hot water. Would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
