Forks 101 RV Park, Forks, Washington

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

I thought this park offered the PA rate but they no longer do. Mostly back in sites (did not check the back of the park as there is no WiFi past site 24). No picnic table and no firepit (there's a communal firepit). We decided to stay one night since we needed showers and laundry ($1.75 per wash or dry). Bathroom had two stalls, one out of order. Showers supposedly need quarters but I think the box is broken (bottom is open and lots of quarters there to use if required). The price with tax came to over $38. Too pricy in my opinion when you can get electric and water at Bogachiel for $30. I felt bad for the woman running the place as she just got here a week ago and the owners seem to have taken off (on vacation?). A real trial by fire for her. She did recommend another campground that didn't offer PA but was "prettier" than Forks 101. I wouldn't stay here again unless lots of improvements were made. We camped at Forks 101 RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Gilgal Oasis RV Park, Sequim, Washington

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice park! Yes, sites are close but everything is so neat and well kept. Bathrooms are spotless. Laundry is $1.50 per wash and dry. Good Wifi as well. It's behind a hotel on the main road but very little road noise (if any). Cost reflects a combo of one night at Passport America rate and one night at Good Sam rate. I'd stay here at full cost too. We camped at Gilgal Oasis RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Jumbo Rocks Campground (NPS Campground), Joshua Tree National Park, California

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Indian Cove is reservations only and you must reserve 48 hrs in advance so we went to Jumbo Rocks on the advice of the rangers at the Oasis Visitor Center. Beautiful spot! As we were driving in, some people recommended site 26 which had a long parking area. Both 25 and 26 were good as you don't share parking with other campers. The picnic table and fire ring were a bit further away in site 26 but we didn't mind. Keep in mind this CG is at 4400 ft elevation so it might be a bit colder. Also kind of windy but great sunset and sunrise views. There are no hookups and no water here; plan accordingly. Generators can only be used from 7-9 am, noon-2 pm and 5-7 pm but we hardly heard any. We camped at Jumbo Rocks Campground (NPS Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

Sierra Trails RV Park, Mojave, California

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

For the PA rate of $20, this was a decent stop for one night coming out of Death Valley. Very cordial check in, good wifi and clean bathrooms and laundry ($1.25/wash, .75/35-45 mins of dryer time). There is some highway noise but it isn't really bothersome unless you're a light sleeper. Lots of full-timers but no "hoarders". Would stay again. Might be tight for big rigs if one is not experienced in backing up. We camped at Sierra Trails RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tecopa Hot Springs Campground and Pools, Tecopa Hot Springs, California

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $11.00
Overall Rating:

I'll have to echo the previous reviewer. This isn't a pretty place. Sites are not well defined except by the electric post and we ended up with someone about three feet behind us. The place is terribly rundown but with the PA rate it made for a decent stopover on our way to Death Valley. Bathrooms in the campground are weird; three toilets and no dividers but you can lock the main door. Bring all the drinking/cooking water you'll need for your stay and bring firewood as it is $10/bundle (!) here. There are no fire rings in the CG but you can make your own with rocks. Pahrump is only a 30 minute drive away and you can get wood at Albertson's or TSC for a decent price. We used the private hot tub which was only $10/hour of you're a camper. The public pools (separate for male and female) are included in your camping cost. Showers are pull chain and there is only one hook for your things. We camped at Tecopa Hot Springs Campground and Pools in a Travel Trailer.

Preferred RV Resort, Pahrump, Nevada

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

The PA price was 16.50 per night. I don't think I'd pay full price but this was a nice park. The bathrooms have been remodelled and are very nice a clean. Hookups are good but spaces are extremely close together. Laundry was good: $1.25/wash and $1.00/dry. They seem to have lots of activities but we didn't use the clubhouse or pool. Good internet. We camped at Preferred RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Davis Camp Park, Bullhead City, Arizona

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is an okay park. $25 for W/E sites (no sewer) but these sites are furthest away from Hwy 95. Showers and restrooms dated but clean. Good hookups but no fire rings. This could be a really nice park if they cleaned up a bit. Five dollars cheaper than Big Bend of the Colorado and at least you get a view of the river. We camped at Davis Camp Park in a Travel Trailer.

High Chaparral, Casa Grande, Arizona

Date of Stay: December, 2017 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

A very nice park. Clean bathrooms and nice amenities (club room, kitchen, laundry, pool, hot tub). Wifi is available to transients, included in the price. The third party wifi is for long-term people. Just wish they had a couple of picnic tables for transients to use but we did take advantage of the kitchen. We camped at High Chaparral in a Travel Trailer.

Roper Lake State Park, Safford, Arizona

Date of Stay: December, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice park. The spots are pretty spacious. The bathrooms are dated but clean but I wasn't much impressed with the showers due to low water pressure. The bathrooms should be heated! It was freezing even during the warmest time of day. The hot tub was nice (not terribly hot though). We camped at Roper Lake State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Beautiful spot with great views! It gets pretty busy too; we got one of the last two walk-in sites. Nice new bathroom building with HEAT! I think the showers didn't drain well because I walked into a puddle entering the barhroom in the morning. Amazing sunset! We camped at Rock Hound State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Mother Neff State Park, Moody, Texas

Date of Stay: December, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is now basically brand new (3 yrs old) since rebuilding after a flood in 2007. Beautifully groomed campsites and nice clean bathrooms. Showers have lots of hooks and a shelf for your toiletries. I'd give them a perfect 10 if they had a laundry. We camped at Mother Neff State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Beautiful park with amazing sunset views over the lake from the "premium" sites. These sites are $28/night but we used one of our 50% off coupons with our annual park pass for one night. Bath houses slightly older but still clean and functional. We camped at Lake Livingston State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Sam Houston Jones State Park, Lake Charles, Louisiana

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

As others have said, this park needs some TLC. We were told by another (local) camper that Camping Area 1 is completely closed. Area 2 is okay but sites are very close together. The online map needs to be updated as it shows the bathhouse where the laundry room is. The bathhouse is on the main road at the top of the camping area. Sites may or may not have sewer as ours had a hole in the ground covered by a rusty piece of metal...not safe!! We did see a lot of deer though. We camped at Sam Houston Jones State Park in a Travel Trailer.
