Atlantic Oaks Campground, Eastham, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $73.00
Overall Rating:

Rate reflects no discount. Once again we enjoyed our stay. Our pull through site was very wide and long. Our full hookups we in good working order. Bathrooms/showers kept super clean. Interior roads packed stone/dirt, our site was mostly sand. Geography at the campground was lightly to moderately wooded and mostly level. Camp store seemed well stocked and was tastefully decorated. There seems to be plenty of pull though sites that can accommodate the larger RV's up to 45' but I would definitely ask before making reservations. As mentioned in the start of my review that we had no discounts for this year but a 40% increase from previous year is over the top. Friendly and helpful staff. Cape Cod Rail Trail is right behind campground. We enjoyed this campground and would certainly return or recommend this place to anyone. We camped at Atlantic Oaks Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Take the high Speed ferry out of Hyannis to Nantucket for a mid week discount. Recommend getting reservations to stay as long as possible as there is much to do and see on the island. Nantucket is relatively flat and good for biking, lots of shopping in town. Whaling museum is definitely worth a visit as with the beaches.

Ivy Lea Campground - Parks of the St. Lawrence, Lansdowne, Ontario

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

Geography at the campground is somewhat hilly with some open and shaded areas. Our W/E hookups were in good working order but our site was very unlevel and had ruts. Roads and sites were crushed stone with some pot holes. Most sites were back in and some could accommodate the larger RV's. Some long term campers here. Found everyone respectful. Bathrooms/showers NOT kept clean during our stay. In addition unoccupied sites which included ours needed raking up. Campground beach was okay. Large storage area for boats and trailers with easy excess to boat launch for exploring 1000 Island NP. Camp store was poorly stocked, Staff was professional. We will not return. We camped at Ivy Lea Campground - Parks of the St. Lawrence in a Travel Trailer.

1000 Islands / Association Island KOA , Henderson Harbor, New York

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nicely maintained campground. Bathrooms/showers clean & updated. Sites are tight together but most have good length to accommodate the larger Rv's. Interior roads are pavement, sites are crushed stone which most seemed to be in good shape. Campground is mostly open, flat with some trees about. Our full hookups were in good working order and our site was level. Good signal on our Verizon cell. Camp store was decently stocked. Staff was professional. Campers/Rvers were respectful. We enjoyed this campground and would certainly return or recommend this place to anyone. We camped at 1000 Islands / Association Island KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Camping Alouette, St-Mathieu-de-Beloeil, Quebec

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

This is a campground that is divided into two areas. Lower part is open with few trees and upper part is moderately to heavily wooded and somewhat hilly. Highway noise in all areas. Most sites, which included ours, looked level and had crushed stone put down. Interior roads were paved and in good shape. Plenty of pull-through and back-in sites and most looked easy to get into with the larger RVs. Our full hookups were in good working order. Good signal on our OTA roaming. Bathrooms/showers were clean & updated. Camp store seemed well stocked. Heavy seasonal/snowbird presence here, folks were very friendly. Staff was professional and friendly and very helpful about the area around the campground. Would certainly return again or recommend this place to anyone. We camped at Camping Alouette in a Travel Trailer.

Camping Transit, Levis, Quebec

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

This is a campground that is close to the highway, if you're a light sleeper or if you Rv is poorly insulated I would recommend getting a site as close to the camp office on opposite side. Geography at the campground is mostly open and flat. Roads are either paved or packed stone and seem to be in good shape. Our pull through site was level, had crushed stone and our full hooks were in good working order. Also noticed most other sites the same and sites were available for the larger Rvs. Our OTA roaming signal was poor. Campground is very well maintained as with the bathrooms & showers were clean and updated. Staff was professional and friendly and very helpful about the area around the campground. We enjoyed this campground and would certainly return or recommend this place to anyone. We camped at Camping Transit in a Travel Trailer.

Char-Bo Campgrounds, Derby, Vermont

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is occupied by mostly seasonal and local Transients. Noticed most RV's were in good shape. Found everyone respectful. Overall campground is well maintained and recent upgrades are noticeable. Noticed lots of open newer sites that can accommodate the larger RV's. Geography of the campground is mostly open with some wooded areas. Roads are either packed stone or pavement and seem to be in good shape. Most sites we noticed looked level and were back in with crushed stone. Bathrooms & showers were clean and updated. We used this campground as a stop before going into Canada which worked out well. Staff was professional, friendly. Good signal on our Verizon cell. Our full hookups were in good working order. Camp store was well stocked. We enjoyed this campground and would return or recommend this place to anyone. We camped at Char-Bo Campgrounds in a Travel Trailer.

Knoebels Amusement Resort, Elysburg, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

We again had a wonderful time on our return trip to Knoebels. Always a huge assortment of different Rv types from all age groups and always find everyone very respectful. Geography at the campground was moderately to heavily wooded and mostly hilly. Roads are paved. Our site was above average in size and had crushed stone put down though I always have to use several boards to level the trailer. Noticed many other sites in our area were not level either. Good signal on our Verizon cell. No problems with our power box. Campground water does have a treated taste to it so bring water for coffee or drinks might be a good idea. Good signal on our Verizon cell. Staff was professional, friendly and experienced on how a campground should be run. Looking forward to going again next year! We camped at Knoebels Amusement Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Winhall Brook COE, South Londonderry, Vermont

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

We had another good stay at Winhall Brook. No signal at all on our Verizon cell phone in the campground area. Campground office offers a WiFi hot spot which has a nice sitting area to use your devices. In addition noticed Londonderry, South Londonderry, Jamaica and other nearby towns are mostly a dead zone for Verizon. Helpful camp hosts. Campground has some hills and is a mix of wooded and open sites. Most W/E sites that we noticed were average or above in size and level. Campsites are plain dirt or grass pending on location to trees or open fields. Grounds are well maintained. Bathrooms and showers were clean and updated. As always found everyone very respectful. Careful of the bridge to the south side of campground. It is tough to cross for the RV's over 40'. Might want to call office ahead of time to be sure your RV is okay to cross. We enjoyed this campground and would certainly return or recommend this place to anyone. We camped at Winhall Brook COE in a Travel Trailer.

West Thompson Lake COE, North Grosvenordale, Connecticut

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We again enjoyed our stay at West Thompson Lake Campground. Campground is heavily wooded, mostly level, with lots of wooded space between sites which made for good privacy. Our 30 amp W/E hookups were in good working order. Entrance road to campsites moderately hilly but very manageable. Not much has changed since we were here a few years ago except the addition of a new building housing the fresh water tanks for the campground. Camp hosts friendly & professional as always. Sites are about 75' deep with plenty of width. Hosts make rounds at quiet time along with park rangers making routine patrols during the day. With the exception of one camper, found everyone respectful. Bathrooms/showers kept clean and were updated. We enjoyed this campground and would certainly return or recommend this place to anyone. Tips for other Campers:

We took advantage of the Kayaking and hiking trails at the campground. Also down the street is the Air Line State park rail trail. Trail is 15 miles round trip to the tri state marker. First half of the trail from campground is in good condition but second half was poorly graded and tough to handle with our hybrid/combination bikes. Good eats at Riverside pizza down the road

Nickerson Park Family Campground, Chaplin, Connecticut

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is our yearly return visit to Nickerson Park. Geography at the campground is level with open and shaded areas. Our W/E hookups were in good working order. We did not try the WiFi but good signal on our Verizon cell phone. Campground is about 40% seasonal, most seasonal campers were in good shape but a few were showing some age. Interior roads are packed dirt, level and easy to maneuver. Maintenance staff was especially helpful on resolving some issues. Most sites, especially the non river sites have enough space where backing in should not be difficult. Campground is clean and decently maintained. Would certainly return again or recommend this place to anyone. We camped at Nickerson Park Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Flory's Cottages & Camping, Ronks, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

I must say we really enjoyed our stay here. Found the campground very appealing with the Amish farms that backed up to our site and the place seemed to have a country charm. Sites 20 through 42 back up to Amish farms and yes there is farm smells here. One thing of note if you valve your space or privacy this place may not be to your liking, sites are very tight with little space between sites which is most likely why they have a no campfire policy here. Also no mats allowed on grass. In addition most vehicles/tow vehicles had to T up at their sites because of lack of space. This may also create a blocking problem for some of the larger Rv's having to get into their sites. Geography at the campground was open to lightly wooded and very level. Camp roads are packed dirt and well grated. Campsites that we noticed had crushed stone. Our full hookups were in good working order. Camp store was well stocked. Bathrooms and showers were very clean. Showers have plenty of hooks, space and a bench to put your stuff on. Staff was friendly and informative. Seasonal sites were decently maintained, transient campers friendly and respectful. Good signal on our Verizon cell, briefly used Wifi which seemed slow to load up. We enjoyed this campground and would return or recommend this place to anyone. We camped at Flory's Cottages & Camping in a Travel Trailer.

We again enjoyed our stay at Atlantic Oaks. Our pull through site for this year was the best ever, plenty of room and level. Our 30 amp full hook ups we in good working order. Bathrooms/showers kept super clean. Interior roads packed stone/dirt, our site mostly packed sand. Geography at the campground was lightly to moderately wooded and mostly level. Camp store seemed well stocked and was tastefully decorated. Staff was professional, friendly and informative. Good signal on our Verizon cell phone. Did briefly use off season WiFi with no problems. Seasonal sites were well maintained though they kind of kept to them self's. Transient campers friendly and respectful. Cape Cod Rail Trail is right behind campground. Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $79.00
Overall Rating:

Rate reflects 4 adults and 1 extra vehicle. This is a clean, decently maintained and landscaped campground. Very nice heated pool. Newer updated bathroom & coin operated showers. Our W/E hookups were in good working order. Interior roads were paved, most sites that we noticed had crushed stone. Being a shore line campground most sites which including ours were on the smaller side which made parking difficult. Geography at the campground was lightly wooded and somewhat hilly. Good signal on our verizon phone. Staff was professional and informative. We enjoyed this campground and would return or recommend this place. Cavendish Campground (Parks Canada), Prince Edward Island National Park, Prince Edward Island

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

What a wonderful experience we had at this campground. Our campsite was a short walk to a beautiful beach. Geography at campground is mostly level and moderately wooded. Sites are level and site size's seem to alternate from very large/deep to small. Our site was just long enough to get into but I was aware of this when I booked. Bathrooms/showers kept very clean with large modern facilities. Not much of a camp store. Our 30 amp full hookups were in good working order but I had to do some creative plumbing to get the sewer line to drain correctly. Good signal on our Verizon cell phone. Campground roads are easy to maneuver which had crushed stone. Campsites that we noticed had pea stone. Staff was professional, friendly and informative. We enjoyed this campground and would certainly return or recommend this place to anyone. We camped at Cavendish Campground (Parks Canada) in a Travel Trailer.

If you enjoy biking this is the place, miles of easy riding, scenic trails at both Cavendish and Stanhope national parks. I would also recommend kayaking the Trout River In the town of Stanly Bridge, very scenic! I would also recommend eating at the Blue Mussel Café in North Rustico and for lunch the Pidgeon Coop Diner in Kensington, delicious lobster rolls made on home made rolls!
