Thousand Trails - Birch Bay, Blaine, Washington

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

This is a large Thousand Trails campground. It had a kids room, adults room, heated pool, dog area (gated), and playground. Also we heard of planned activities for kids but did not participate. It did not have individual fire pits but you could rent a portable fire pit for $5/day. Since it is a Thousand Trails (member campground), it looked like quite a few seasonal and/or permanent residents, mainly looking like a retirement community, although we talked to a few families that also lived there full time (eg: more of a trailer park than RV campground). No cellular service with Sprint, Canadian TV only. They seemed to enforce very strict rules about the park. It's very quiet and clean. We camped at Thousand Trails - Birch Bay in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Convenience to Birch Bay and the Canadian border is the reason to stay here. Birch Bay is beautiful. If you leave the park there are many nice restaurants and beach front. Also just around the corner is the Birch Bay water slides which are old but a fun day for adults and or kids. Lots of fresh fruit stands around the area to pick up local produce!

Lake Easton Resort, Easton, Washington

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

We were parked very close to the freeway which was loud. Full hook ups very easy. No individual fire pits but a shared fire pit. Warm, clean pool and play set for kids. Gate that will take you right to Lake Easton State Park was the highlight, with trails and swimming/beach access for the lake. Facilities were very clean and people were very nice! A lot of noise from motorcycles and freeway but other than that no complaints. Picnic table at each site. Not a lot of extras but a nice campsite. Back sites were only water and electric. Tent camping available too. Towing a 25 ft. travel trailer with SUV. We camped at Lake Easton Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Use the gate to get to the State Park; picnic tables, beach access, swimming, fishing, boating. There is a gas station, small store and cafe around the corner.
