The absolute best campground in Branson is not in Branson but is near a small town called Blue Eye (honest). This is about half-hour drive into Branson and is an Outdoor Resorts of America--paved spots, lakefront, quiet, all the amenities. Nice. Nice. Nice. Nothing in Branson comes anywhere near comparing to this!
We stayed at Musicland RV Resort (our one and only trip to Branson) the summer of 2003-------and to us it was a fantastic place. Some people will say it is too hard to get in and out of-----but don't believe it----they obviously don't have enough experience at driving to put in their hats-----the owner and/or his helper escort you to your site and guide you in and believe me---they know what they are doing. The entire park is terraced----going down a rather steep hill-----not your average take a walk park. The park backs right up to the strip--many shows and attractions are within walking distance. The facilities at this rv resort are A #1 ---in cleanliness----the owners are quite cordial----the office/store is well equipped---good security----and very level campsites with all hook-ups. We did take a drive (one day) over to ABC Campground---which everybody raved about----to us it looked like the average campground----not to many trees---and about 4 or 5 miles out of town-----NOT FOR US-----. We did not realize that Musicland RV Resort was a PASSPORT Park----until the owners told us so----and they gave us the first two nites at half price with our Passport America card and the next three nights at the discound for Good Sam Membership----which was quite nice of them. A Very Good Experience at Musicland RV Resort-------and a fun time for a couple of old coots at Branson, MO-------------------Good Luck PJRACER
I would vote on Blue Eye also, check to see if park is for Class A and C only before you go. We spent time at Amerca's Best Campground on Hwy 248 north of Branson. Park is large and very nice. We also spend time at Branson City RV Park on Lake Taneycomo. This place is in old downtown Branson. Lot of people in park. Park is very close to train ride into hills, on lake, lot of water birds, fishing, and lot of places to eat close by. Need to spend a day to see College of the Ozarks. Great place to see, museum, farm, milk barn, old tractor display, corn mill, kids do all the work on this place. Great place to have lunch also run by the kids in school. Take Hwy. 65 south and you will see it. John Tampa, Fl.
We've stayed at ABC, Musicland, and Compton Ridge. All are good. Musicland is about 1/2 block of the strip, and in walking distance to shows. The others are about five minutes or so from town. My personal preference was ABC. But, they all have their good and not much bad in any of the three.
We stayed at the ABC campground and it was one of the best experiences we have had.. staff friendly and competent, facilities are excellent and its very convenient to all the shows... JohnnyT
I have heard that ABC is good. We stayed at Silver Creek Campgrounds. I would recommend this campgound if you plan to spend time at Silver Creek theme park. It is close to the park.
