    MattB,

The post from Webmaster that you have quoted is from many years ago, and there have been several revisions to this guideline since then until we finally did away with it completely quite some time ago. We now consider first time reviews for posting without requiring a second one to be submitted.

Also there have been several discussions about removing older reviews, but members say they like to see how well a park has performed over the years as it sets a pattern of service which they can reasonably anticipate will continue. However, I understand how old reviews can clutter up the listings, so what I would like to see is that reviews older than 5 years be removed from the initial display but have a button that users can click on that will reopen them. This way older reviews are still available for those who want to see them, but only more current reviews will be displayed automatically.

Edit: I have just seen where you posted in other threads about eliminating older reviews. It really is not good forum etiquette to post the same message in multiple threads. However, in your other messages you suggested using a different color for older reviews to indicate their age which is a good suggestion. Maybe our website developers will consider doing that. Thanks for all you suggestions.

This makes sense, maybe add a 25 (pick a number) review minimum before this function is enabled/showed? This way Rv parks with fewer reviews will just show all the reviews up front, might make more sense.

I just noticed that River Ridge campround in Georgia has changed their name to
    SPREWELL BLUFF PARK, GA

    Please correct your records.

    Thanks!

Thank you for contacting us about this park. However, all I have been able to come up with is that River Ridge Campground is the name of the campground located within the Sprewell Bluff Park. I do not find where the name of the campground has been changed. Therefore, would you please tell us where you saw the name change that you have reported. Or if anyone else is familiar with this area and can help clarify this information, please also reply to this message. Thanks.

With all due respect, if you Google Sprewell Bluff Park the first listed response is to the Reserve America webpage where reservations can be made. The listing is clearly for a CG with the 6 RV sites that are noted in the RVPR listing for River Ridge.

OTOH if you Google River Ridge CG you don't get any hits in GA so the CG doesn't appear to be known by this label.

Furthermore, if you follow the RVPR link to the park's website you get a "page not found" on the Upson County GA website.

My speculation is that at one time Upson County handled reservations for this CG directly but have elected to use ReserveAmerica to avoid the hassle.

I'm not sure where you found the name of this CG, but I would think the logical thing to do would be to rename the RVPR listing for the park since that's the name used for reservations.

I know the listing has an incorrect website link, and I intend to fix it, but I looked at the same website that NYDutch cited (https://www.upsoncountyga.org/199/Sprewell-Bluff-Park), and that is what led me to believe the campground still goes by the name River Ridge. Here are some quotes from that website:

"Sprewell Bluff Park's River Ridge Campground offers Cabins, RV/Tent sites, and a Bathhouse."

"River Ridge Campground - Book your Cabin or RV/Tent site here"

"Make a reservation for a Cabin or RV/ Tent Site in the River Ridge Campground or Book a Pavilion"

Even the Google map displayed on the website shows the location of River Ridge Campground and labels it as such.

I agree that since Reserve America lists it as Sprewell Bluff Park, that wording should be in the name, but OTOH since the park's website still identifies it as River Ridge, I think that name needs to be retained also. So I suggest: Sprewell Bluff Park, River Ridge Campground which is no different than how we list other large parks that have campgrounds with different names.

I’m surprised with a response I just received from rv park reviews after leaving 4or5 reviews between Illinois and Idaho. Some administrator sent me a message on a positive review for one park, complaining I didn’t say mention the restroom or something. I’ve been rving since 1972, and had a great feeling about Rv park Reviews, since they started, but the arrogance in the response to me wiped that out.
If I remember correctly, rv park reviews used to like it when reviews we’re left.
    I ghess things have changed.

Why would anyone want to leave a review of a park when rv park reviews spends its time “scolding” the reviewer. Should we complain to the park owners as to why we cannot leave a review?

I seriously doubt that you were asked to include information about the park's rest rooms, but it is quite possible that you were asked to provide more information about the park itself including, for example, things such as the rest rooms or other aspects of the park.

It's our policy that all reviews contain some information useful to others who are deciding if a park is suitable for them. Sometimes even positive reviews can be lacking in substantive information about a park. In those cases our admins may send a review back for revision and ask the reviewer to include additional information. We're sorry if you don't care for our policy but we think it's the best way for us to maintain a database of high quality reviews.

I’m tired of writing reviews, if you want more info than what I wrote, go visit the park. What I wrote explained, was an accurate description of my experience. From your response, I doubt you travel to the parks.

I left several reviews and the Admin wanted more info on one park. He refused to post my review. I had given all I knew about the park. But that wasn’t enough for this guy.
I just checked, none of my reviews we’re posted. I won’t be posting reviews anymore for Rv Park Reviews. The arrogance is stunning. I will be contacting the owners of those parks as to my problem with Rv Park Reviews.

It is time to set the record straight.

    1. The message that Bob Roberts has quoted from the Webmaster is from July 2006. This three review requirement was discontinued a long time ago.

    2. We have received only one recent review from Bob Roberts dated August 2018. The review only stated that he liked the park and he stayed there longer than he had planned.

    3. The admin who read the review sent a message to the reviewer thanking him for submitting the review and stated: "The goal of a review is to assist other RVers in making a decision whether or not this park will serve their needs. Therefore, adding some additional details in the comments box concerning the appearance, quality, and condition of the park, the sites, the utilities, the facilities, pet areas, roads, amenities, etc. would be very helpful."

We do not feel this is "scolding," but rather asking the reviewer for his help in providing useful information about the park. And to quote docj, ". . . we think it's the best way for us to maintain a database of high quality reviews."

We have submitted over a hundred reviews. We try to include as much info as possible but on a few occasions we have been asked to clarify some points. Whats the big deal? We went back and edited the review and a number of times we have actually helped someone choose a park. If we were professional writer/reviewers perhaps we would have been a bit miffed but we are not. We're just an average traveler trying to help our fellow RVer. I see reviews on tripadviser etc that leave me wondering and even some on RVPR that I think could have been more descriptive......especially those submitted by the disgruntled.

Keep up the good work admin folks.

I received the message from the admin this week. I posted reviews for Hollywood Rv Park and Casino. Also little bear park in Iowa. Also best park in the county in Ogallala Nebraska, also Koa Cheyenne way, also Koa, rock springs, also Koa Montpelier, Idaho, and planned on leaving more. But I don’t like the response I received.

I was not referring to a review in 2006. Or the reviews in 2012. I’ve explained, but cannot understand it for you. Me, and the Rv parks I told the owners I would leave a review, are your customers. Customers don’t like disrespectful comments. Your Admin sent me a message that I didn’t like. Then he sent an update, with a warm-milk toast second thoughts on his previous comments. Nobody was discussing a 2006 review!
